Hyunjin slowly started to give up.

He didn't really know anymore
how to save his omega, he only
knew there was a slight chance
for Seungmin to live if he used magic.

Not as in looking for a magician and buying some spell or potion, no.

The alpha wanted to ask the gods of nature, actually the God of the sea.

Hyunjin didn't have his special
eyes and rare looks for nothing,
he was a spirit of nature,
the spirit of the sea to be exact.

Nature spirits were rare and the alpha had never met another nature spirit,
also there were never two of a kind.

Hyunjin was the only living
spirit of the sea.

There are other kinds of course,
desert spirits, meadow spirits,
forest spirits, you name it.

But there wasn't actually much
of a difference to normal wolves besides how they looked, they didn't have any special tasks or abilities and also couldn't use magic themselves.

But as already mentioned,
they were able to ask the gods
for help.

Hyunjin grabbed the half finished glass of water from his bedside table,
holding it under his chin.

It only needed one look at his dying omega for the first tear to roll down
his cheek and drop in the water.

Three tears vanished in the clear liquid before the alpha took a sip,
closing his eyes as he felt the water rush through his body, the sound
of waves crashing getting stronger
in his ears.

Hyunjin.
How can I help you?

"My omega, he's dying and I
don't know how to help him.
He keeps bleeding although his
body has already miscarried
from another alpha."

There is a way to let him live.
His body is still desperately trying
to clean itself because you two are silver mates.

As long as the omega's body
doesn't get what it longs most for,
there is no chance to save him.

"I- I don't understand."

A child, Hyunjin.

But your mate is already very weak,
he won't be able to conceive unless

something in return.

"I'll give or do whatever you want,
anything.
Please just save my Seungmin."

A wolf's biggest treasure is
what makes them unique,
the biggest price to pay is what
gives us security.

If I let your omega live,
he'll go into heat right this night.
If you are successful, he'll recover within days.
I'll take what's mine once
the child is born.
Do you agree?

"Yes."

And then everything around the blonde turned black, his limb body falling on the bed right beside his unconscious omega.

Seungmin's whole body was only
skin and bones, even the knobs of
his spine visible through his shirt and Hyunjin had always been so scared to just crush his mate when he hugged him close but they needed the closeness and especially the omega needed the warmth.

His own body was too weak.

But somehow deep in their hearts both wolves finally found a bit of rest,
the first time in weeks because there was a chance now.

A chance that everything would
be okay, that Seungmin would be okay and that maybe, just maybe everything would go back to normal again.

And still Hyunjin was scared
of what was yet to come,
he had to take the one chance he got,
he couldn't fail his mate.

Also he was afraid of the payday,
he wasn't ready to lose something so precious on such an important day.

He wasn't ready to turn blind
the moment his baby would come
to the world.
