Madison's POV:

I go downstairs with everyone who was just sitting with me up in tow, as I go down the stairs after them, I hear the door of the lab opening, I turn around and find a blonde haired girl walking down the stairs, she glances at me confused and continues to advance towards her mom,

"Clarke? Clarke. How'd you get here? Why didn't you tell me you were coming? Honey..." Abby asks

"You're running out of time, mom" Clarke states

"Where's the fuel?" I ask, knowing that she was the one who was supposed to deliver the cans of hydrazine for the rocket

"We lost a barrell, we can't go to-" she stops suddenly, "I'm sorry, who are you?" she asks

"Clarke, this is Madison Franko," Abby introduces me

"Nice to meet you," I smirk knowing she was about to be shocked just like everyone else

"Franko? As in Becca Franko, Bekka Pramheda?" Clarke asks wide-eyed

"Apparently, that is what you guys call my sister," I say as I walk towards the table where my phone was charging, it should be at a 100% by now.

"Sorry, what? How are you still alive?" she asks confused

"Cryosleep" I say as I point to the pod that kept me safe for 99 years

"This is too much to process, wait so you were alive before praimfaya?" Clarke asks still not understanding

"Um, what's a praimfaya, Clarke?" I question

"The apocalypse, when ALIE launched the missiles" Murphy answers

"Oh, that yeah, sorry about that by the way, ALIE was my idea and I introduced it to Becca," I apologize looking down, ashamed at how an idea I thought of while laying in bed destroyed the world, "anyways, I will be atoning for my sins, now that I know and am caught up about everything that happened the last 100 years, I am gonna help you guys survive this wave of radiation coming, I just need ALIE 2"

"You're a nightblood?" Clarke asks

"Babe, I created nightblood" I remark

"Can we create it on the ground?" she asks

"The answer to that would be no, the zero G environment is what pushes the particles to bind together creating the immunity to radiation, but none of us need nightblood to survive," I say

"What do you mean?" she asks

"How can we survive without it?" asks Raven

"Well, you guys said that my sister came down in an escape pod, the survivors she found obviously were not living on the ground, radiation emitted from the missiles ALIE had to have launched, the ones from China, were impossible to withstand if you didn't have the blood alteration which means the people she found were living underground, something like a bunker, when I implant ALIE 2, I can ask my sister and she can tell me where it is," I say, "but first these clans of yours have to accept me as one of them, therefore I need proof" I add as I walk to a computer.

I login and open the systems camera footage, we had cameras all over the lab that kept footage stored, I started searching through the 2051 footage until I found the day Becca put me to sleep, "come look at this" I tell everyone.

The video plays and they can see and hear the conversation between Becca and I,

"Bec, you have to lock her up or kill her if that's possible" Madison urges

"How? There are people who actually believe in her right now," Becca replies

"I get that, but 'too many people', we both know that's not normal, and this isn't just all bark and no bit threat, this is an AI, she could kill the entire human population if she wanted to," Madison says back.

"I'll lock her up and create a new one," Becca suddenly says thinking of a new idea.

"What?" Madison asks baffled, "another one, why? It'll just say the same thing."

"No, Mads, ALIE's problem is that she doesn't think like a human, she still thinks like an AI, she doesn't feel human emotion because she knows she isn't one of us," Becca realizes

"Okay, but what are you gonna do about it now, for this second one?" Madison still questions

"This one, it's gonna merge with a human mind, it wouldn't be so ruthless because it would be part of our consciousness, and it wouldn't want to wipe us out because it will be one of us too" Becca answers

"Becca, you know I love you, but this too sounds a little insane, plus how are you gonna work on it with ALIE being everywhere, she'll know your creating her replacement," Madison adds

"She won't, I'm gonna go back to Polaris to create it," Becca says as she slowly opens a drawer behind her sisters back and pulls out a sedative tranquilizer hiding it behind her back.

"Alright, I'm coming with you," Madison answers

"No"

"Why not? I have nothing to lose, you're the only person left that I actually care about," Madison snaps back

"I know, and I care about you too, more than anything, but I have to be alone for this, you have to be safe," Becca replies

"Yeah, and how is that supposed to happen? No one is safe right now with ALIE around, who knows what she's capable of," Madison retaliates.

"Exactly, but she won't do anything to you if you're asleep," Becca says as she looks at the one cryosleep pod in the middle of the lab.

Madison follows her eyesight and laughs, "Becca, you're hilarious, I am not going into cryo, and we both know that" Madison chuckles

Becca clouded by her judgement and thoughts of making sure her sister is safe, comes closer to Madison and injects her with the sedative on her neck, "You are, I'm sorry, you know I love you too, but this is the only way she won't harm you"

Madison suddenly feels drowsy and falls to the floor unconscious, Becca carefully carries her and lays her down in the open cryo pod, she takes another look at her sister finding her in this angelic state with her platinum hair down framing her face and her eyes shut peacefully.

"This was never your fault or mistake, it was mine, and now I'm gonna fix it," Becca cries.

She shuts the cryopod and goes over to the computer next to it that controls it, she sets the instructions of the pod to only being opened when opened by someone with the password "seek higher things" in latin.

I can feel tears falling out of my eyes as I watch the video, everyone beside me gives me sympathetic looks, "it's fine" I sniffle, "Becca is the reason the grounder survived, and I want to be the reason you guys survive now too" I say

"I'll film this on my phone, and we can show the leaders of your 13 clans, once they see it they'll believe me, and then I can "ascned" or whatever," I say in quotation marks, "who's gonna take me?" I ask

"Me and Emori will," Murphy says looking at me with hope, I had a feeling he would want to keep helping me so he could hold a favor over me.

"Okay, let me radio Kane and tell him of our new plan," Abby declares

I look at everyone confused, "he's our chancellor," Clarke replies

"Alright then, let's go save the human race" I demand, feeling nervous yet excited about what was gonna happen, little did I know I would be haunted by one memory for the next 6 years.
