[Madison's POV]

I was woken up by Kane around 20 minutes ago to the shittiest news ever.

We had no way out.

Currently we were in the office trying to figure out the fact that we were trapped in an underground bunker. According to Kane, the large tower of Polis collapsed on top of us when praimfaya passed and therefore there was too much rubble to push the door open. As expected my nerves were not at ease.

Abby enters the office with Jaha and a woman named Kara directing the sentence "I take it you already know" to me.

I did not know who Kara was, I just knew her name when I accidentally bumped into her on day 28.

"Did the look on my face give that away or is it the fact that I'm sat at this desk looking at blueprints that I'm supposed to understand but have no idea what they even are?" I ask sarcastically

"Everybody knows," Jaha announces

Great, now Octavia and I have to deal with 1,200 frightened people. Before I get the chance to speak up, Indra glares at Kara asking Jaha what the hell she's doing in here.

"Kara runs the hydroponic farm just like she did on the ark. You need to hear what she has to say," he says

"Here are the blueprints, go ahead," Octavia hands them to Jaha for him to try and successfully do what we've been trying to do for the last 20 minutes...find a way out.

"I don't need the blueprints. I studied them well enough before taking this bunker for our people. You want to know if there's another way out. There isn't," Jaha mutters

"Don't remind me of that," I roll my eyes

Kane, trying to be the ever so positive one, says "Well, this changes nothing. We can't survive outside for the next five years, anyway. That means we have 5 years to solve this problem. What would it take to cut around the hatch or break through an outer wall? You point me to a weak spot, I'll get you a team that can break through."

"You're not listening. Even if we could cut around the hatch, which we can't, I'm guessing that the tower collapsed above us, which means thousands of tons of rubble. As far as the outer wall, that's 12 inches of solid steel surrounded by bedrock. There are no vulnerabilities, and we don't have the equipment to exploit them if there were, not in 5 years, not in a hundred," Jaha reiterates

"Well great, anyone else have any more shit they wanna lay on us?" I ask

And of course, Kara adds, "There's a more pressing issue. The hydrofarm's yield won't support us beyond those 5 years. Even if we replace the medicinal fields with food producers and rotate them for nutrient diversity, we'll eventually lead to a mass die-off."

"For the plants and for us," Jaha decides to add for extra measure.

"Why are we just hearing of this now?" Indra asks on behalf of Octavia and I

"Before now, I could manage it. When they allowed 1,200 people into this bunker, it was based on 5-year calucations," Kara snarls

I just roll my eyes at her before directing my attention back to the blueprints while Octavia decides to speak up

"You're blaming us for this?" Octavia asks

"You forced your own people out into that fire, and for what?" she says referring to skaikru

I'm quite frankly feeling suffocated and sick of this so I tell the guards, "Get em au kom hir [get her out of here]."

"This bunker wasn't yours to give," she continues protesting, "Jaha found it. It belonged to us. You had no right. You just showed up 3 days ago, we've been on the ground for months."
