- Loona is a KPOP girl group under the label Blockberry Creative. There are 12 members, who all debuted with solo music videos in a “Girl of the Month” format.
- Their Korean name, 이달의 소녀 , translates to “Girl of the Month/Moon”, which relates to their debut format and also hints at the lunar calendar that LOONA’s lore revolves around. LOONA also obviously sounds like “lunar”. Basically, the moon is a very important part of LOONA.
- The Korean characters in their name were used to construct their English name (ㅇ,ㄷ,ㅇ,ㅅ,ㄴ - ㄴ,ㅇ,ㅇ,ㄷ,ㅅ). Also, their name is commonly written using Greek letters to spell “LOOΠΔ” to highlight the similarities between the Latin and Korean alphabet.
- Another cool fact about "LOOΠΔ" is that the Greek letters actually translate to LOOPD and the loonaverse has shown many loops this also correlates to the mobius strip (don't worry that's one of the things I'll be explaining)
You don’t really need to know all this, but it’s just one example to show how much detail and thought was put into the creation of LOONA. Just wait until we get to the music videos LOL
