SCOTT

"Done." I say as I click out of the Busch Gardens website. Today, I was going to take Maya to Busch Gardens, just the two of us to have some alone time. And what better place to go to for a first date than an amusement park?

I remember Maya telling me previously that she liked Busch Gardens and since Homecoming last week was such a success, it was pastime Maya and I went on a real date. I take my phone from my bed and call Maya to tell her the cool news. She picks up on the second ring.

"Hello?"

"How would you feel if I told you that we were going to Busch Gardens today?"

Maya laughs softly, "I would feel happy and confused. Why are we going to Busch Gardens?"

"Because I want to spend time with my girlfriend and she so happens to like Busch Gardens. And I know it's kind of sudden, but I really want to do something with just the two of us. Do you want to go?" I ask, getting slightly nervous that maybe Maya didn't want this at all.

"You're so sweet, Scott. And yes, it would be nice to spend some time with my boyfriend." Maya pauses for a second before continuing, "Let me just let my parents know, okay? What time were you thinking about going?"

"Yes! Okay, I was thinking around noon?"

Maya chuckles. "Noon sounds good, see you then?"

"Yeah, see you then." I say and hang up the phone. I lift up my fists in a little victory movement before going downstairs and letting my parents know.

Once noon rolled around, I took my car and drove up to Maya's driveway. I knocked on the door and it opened a second later with Maya standing in front of me.

"Hey." Maya says and I take a moment to take in her appearance. She wore a white graphic tee with the words 'Free Spirit' written in black cursive with dark blue shorts.

"Hey. You look great, Maya. Are your parents home, should I come say hi?"

Maya laughs and touches my arm, "No, you're fine. They're both still resting upstairs; they had a long week."

I laugh and take her hand, "Okay, well, I guess that means we can be on our way then."

"Yeah, let's go." Maya says, letting me lead her to my car and I open the door for her to get in.

When I get in the drivers seat, Maya speaks up. "Since when did you have a car?"

I scratch my head nervously, "Uhh, I don't. This is my dad's car."

Maya laughs again and leans over to peck me on the lips. I was so caught off guard, so my expression must have resembled a deer in headlights because Maya laughed once more and says, "You're so cute."

"Not as cute as you are." I reply back. But as soon as I said it, I found myself cringing. I look over at Maya and notice that she had a cringe expression as well.

Maya scrunches up her eyebrows and nose. "Are we that couple?"

"I don't know, are we?" I say, copying her facial expression. We both look at each other for a moment in silence before we abrupt in laughter.
