This was partly inspired by @divergingthestars, who wrote a fanfiction about Tfios and Divergent, but I decided I'd like to read one with The Hunger Games and The Maze Runner too! This is probably going to be rubbish, just a warning, but if you do decide to read it, thanks!
All writes for the characters in this story belong to their original authors: John Green, Veronica Roth, James Dashner and Suzanne Collins.
The Fault In Our Divergent Maze Games
Hazel's phone rang. It was Augustus. She glanced back and forth from the screen, to her parents faces.
"Hazel, would you like to leave the table?" Her dad asked. With a mouth full of cheesy pasta, Hazel nodded gratefully and hurried up the stairs to her room, where she flopped on the bed and answered the call.
"Hey Beautiful." Came the voice she had fallen in love with from the other end of the line.
"Whatcha up to?" Hazel asked.
"Basketball." Augustus replied. "At the school stadium. Reckon you could get down here?"
"Why, do you need at least one supporter for the game to start?" Hazel joked.
"Nah, you need 3. So, I was thinking, If you come and bring your parents...." Augustus trailed off, laughing. "But seriously, I met this crowd of people I think you'd like. You need to be more sociable."
Hazel groaned. "If you really want me to." She whined.
"Could you pick up Isaac on your way?"
"Yeah, sure."
"So.... I'll see you in 10? Okay?"
"Okay." They sat there for 5 minutes, not speaking, but Hazel could hear Augustus smiling at the other end of the line. After quickly getting changed into a pair of new jeans and a pretty top Hazel hurried down stairs (she couldn't run because of her oxygen tank), said goodbye to her parents then hopped into the van and set off. She arrived at Isaac's house within about 5 minutes, and explained that Augustus wanted them to go to the stadium. Isaac happily agreed, ready for a day out, so his mum helped him into the van and they set off. Soon, they were at school, and Hazel led Isaac into the basketball stadium.
