Chapter 14

Merida's POV

I was dragging Punz back to where she started. While running, I tripped over something and fell, "oof" I cried out in pain. "Woah! Ouch!" Punz followed after. We both laughed.

Dark laughs suddenly bounced of the walls of the room,"having fun without us?" Jack asked with a smirk but this one was an evil smirk. "Ge' back, lass!" I exclaimed as I jumped up and use the furniture I tripped on as a weapon. I don't even know what furniture it is but I should use it. I felt it from the bottom to the top and it was a chair! "Heck yes!" I shouted as I raised it in the air and hit Jack with in but he ducked and instead it hit Hiccup. "Mer! Wait! Stop! Don't hurt them! They're our friends!" Punz shouted over the noise of chairs hitting flesh. "Ahm no' stupid Punz! I know this!" I exclaimed. I just realized that my scottish accent got thicker each time I breathe in heave breaths. I was about to hit Jack when the chair was pulled away from my reach. I looked at where it went and I saw Punzie holding the chair. She took two strands of hair and wrapped it around both Jack and Hiccup's feet. She began singing her song and her hair started glowing with it. The sand that was both the boys, started falling off. Once Punz was done singing, the boys collapsed on the floor, unconscious.

After several times of smacking them in the face, Jack woke up with slap marks on his cheeks. "Wha- what's going on?" Jack asked with a small smile and a sleepy voice. "We're in Pij's lair, ye ding dong!" I scolded him and hit him at the back of his head,"ow! That hurt!" Jack cried out on pain whie rubbing the back of his head, wincing twice. "Ok, that's enough fun time, how are we gonna wake Hiccup up?" Punz asked, poking Hic's head. "That's easy, we don't wake him up, we wait for him to wake up!" I said with my fist in the air. "Uh... But how is that exactly gonna help?" Punzie asked. "Yeah, how?" Jack agreed with Punz. "Ye!" I shouted, pointing to Jack,"m-me?" Jack asked, obviously confused. "Aye! Ye! Ye carry Hic all the way out of here while Punz and I guide ye te the exi'!" I shouted with a thicker scottish accent. "Wot's with the thick scottish accent, frizzball?" Jack asked, imitating my scottish accent and hiding his laughs.

I was about to slap him when a thick strand of hair wrapped around both my wrist and my mouth. Jack's mouth was wrapped round with a thick strand of hair too. We looked at where the thick strands of hair are coming from and it came from, of course, Punzie. I asked a muffled 'what's with the hair?' but she shushed me. "Pitch is right outside the door, be quiet." she whispered and untangled her hair from my my wrist, my mouth and Jack's mouth.

I was ready to pounce at the door. It opened and I pounced but stop suddenly to see a frightened Leslie. "Les!" I exclaimed and hugged her. She's nice to me and like a real mother unlike my mother. I wish Les was my mum! I released Les and Punz came flying to her, "Mom!" Punzie exclaimed as she hugged her mother. "Mrs. Corona." Jack said while holding out a hand to shake. "I got great news! I found the exit and I escaped Pitch!" she exclaimed. This is too good to be true. "Yeah! Let's go!" I exclaimed pulling Punz and Jack, who was carrying Hic on his back, out of the door,"c'mon Les! Where's the exi'?" I asked in happiness.

Les guided after us and after a while, we came to a stop and I looked up, there was a hole but, I think wooden planks are blocking it. Punz threw her hair up but fell to the ground. I looked down to see a bended stick, a straight stick, a sharp rock with a hole at the base, a pile of leaves and a piece of string. I thought for awhile. I got a better idea! I cut and tied the string on both ends of the bended stick and made a bow! The excess string that I cut off, I use it to tie the leaves on one end of the straight stick and finally, the sharp rock. I place the sharp rock on the straight stick with the sharp part pointed away from the stick to make an arrow! I realized that everyone was quiet... Well except for Hiccup because of his snoring. I tied Punzie's hair to the makeshift arrow and focus on my target which was the wooden planks above us. I shoot the arrow and it hit the wooden planks. "Heck yeah!" I exclaimed in victory but Les covered my mouth and put her index finger to her lips. "Oh, sorry." I said, embarrassed. "Now's not your time to shine, frizzball." Jack said quietly. He picked his staff up from the ground and flew up with Hiccup on his back and he flew out of the hole and went back in with no Hiccup. "Where did you get your staff and where did you put Hiccup?" Punz asked. "I saw my staff on the floor and just picked it up and Hiccup, snoring away on the ground up there." he said, pointing up with his index finger and leaning against his staff. "Ahm nex' if Hiccup's up there alone!" I whisper shouted. Jack lifted me and I smack his head with my fists for leaving Hiccup up there alone. What if a big large grizzly bear comes and gets him?

I got this feeling for Hiccup for a long time but I can't express it. It is this feeling where you feel weak in your knees when he passes by you or talks to you. It is this feeling where when you talk to him or find him staring at you, your heart rate quicken. It is this feeling where when he compliments you, your ears felt hot. It is really hard to explain but when I say the word, my stomach churns in anxiety. What if he doesn't like me that way? What if I'm not his type? And all those other questions I ask myself but I try to block the thoughts by imagining myself shooting arrows on targets. When I say the word, I try to swallow my saliva but it is hard to do so. I don't even know what word is but I think it's 'like' or a 'crush'? I don't even know.

I'm still hitting Jack and he threw me up and I landed on the ground with a loud thump. Hiccup's beside me. Well.... More like under me. He suddenly woke up and I quickly rolled over so that my back was against the ground. "What just happened?" he asked. "Well, ye fell asleep and-" "oh, that." I remembered. "So ye were pretending te sleep the whole time?" I asked and Jack was now carrying Punz. Punz was blushing and their nose and forehead were touching each others. Jack was carrying Punz bridal style while he carried me on his back, like a piggyback ride. He gently put Punz down and zoomed back in for Les and he came up again with Les.

Hic called his dragon and at first Les was scared. Now, here she is, letting her arms be free while riding Toothless and Punzie's hair dangled off Toothless's body. Jack was flying as usual. We reached Punzie's home and had a sleep over. I'm glad Punz forgot about the thing that happened to her and Pij but now I feel like forgetting everything. I went to sleep beside Hiccup because I was sleeping on Punzie's extra mattress that we found in the storage room when Hiccup asked to sleep beside me so I said 'yeah, why no'. I feel really weird now. But a good weird. I'll try asking Punz what this feeling is tomorrow.
