Plan

Mooze didn't wake me up so I overslept. Nagising na lang ako at binalot na kaagad ng pamilyar n'yang amoy ang aking ilong. With my slightly closed eyes, I saw him reading a magazine near the veranda. May specs s'yang suot at nakaligo na.

Nakaupo na ako nang lingunin niya 'ko.

"Good morning. How's your sleep?" he asked and sat beside me.

Umagang-umaga ay kunot ang noo ko. He's acting weird. It's like he's trying to be someone else. Pati paglakad niya ay kakaiba. Parang mga lalaking babad sa libro, 'yong mga madalas sa library.

"What's wrong with you?" mahina kong sabi. I noticed a small table near where he came from. May pagkain na roon.

"I'm your cool boyfriend," ngisi niya.

Mas lalo akong nagtaka. What is he talking about?

"What were you reading?" tanong ko at tumayo na para dumiretso sa banyo. I left it open since I'm just going to wash my face and brush my teeth.

"Just some magazines that can be helpful for your birthday," aniya. His voice echoed so I think he's just near the bathroom.

Naghilamos muna ako bago siya hinarap. Ginamit ko ang bagong twalya sa itaas na cabinet at pinangpunas sa akin mukha. After doing it, I looked back to him who was already leaning on the doorway with his arms crossed.

"Why are you wearing glasses?" I asked. Nagsimula na ako mag-toothbrush, hinayaan ko nang panoorin n'ya ako.

He groaned and I felt like he was stressing my stupidity for not knowing why. Bakit ba kasi siya naka-specs? Naninibago lang naman ako.

"I'm trying to impress you, Win! You're as numb as ever!" inis niyang sabi at inalis ang specs. "I saw in a magazine that girls like studious boys more than those bad boys."

Natatawa ako kaya mas lalo s'yang nainis. Hayun, bumalik na lang malapit sa veranda. His eyes were so annoyed, I can tell. Hindi tuloy nawala ang ngisi ko. Bakit kailangan pang magpa-impress sa akin? I already know him quite well. There's no lying anymore about identity.

And as moody as he is, hindi naman nagtagal ang pagkainis niya. He's back to being sweet. Ginabayan niya ako sa pagkain.

"I've waited for you although I was already dying in hunger..." he said like he's so proud of it. May bahid din ng pagpapaawa.

"Wow, congratulations," I teased him and he almost choked. I laughed because of his reaction.

"As time goes by you're becoming like me. Damn, stop being my counterpart, Win..." Umiling-iling siya, hindi makapaniwala. I couldn't analyze if he was just faking his seriousness or if he's really serious.

Gano'n naman talaga. Sometimes we're already adopting the attitudes of the people around us. Kagaya kay Mina. I'm not usually talkative and easy-going, but whenever I'm with her, I'm becoming like her. At ngayon, parang nahahawa na ako sa pagiging loko-loko ni Mooze. I think it's not bad at all, so why not?

I took a bath and he waited again. Hindi niya na suot ang specs niya kaya inasar ko na naman siya kanina.

"No more studious Mooze?" I chuckled while I was combing my hair. 'Di na ako gumamit ng blower.

"Shut up, Win. I'll really have my revenge after you turn eighteen," suplado niyang sabi at tiningnan ako mula ulo hanggang paa. "Be thankful you're pretty as fuck..." umirap ito at humiga sa kama.
