Tap. Tap. Tap.

A soft thumping reverberated around your room like an alarm would greet you in the morning. The faded sound made your (E/C) eyes reveal themselves to the world. Your figure slowly advanced up from the cozy paradise known as your soft blankets. Studying the large oak door you awaited for another knocking sequence, just to make sure this person was really attempting to awaken you.

Tap. Tap. Tap.

The faint knocking created a sense of urgency. Sluggishly, you directed your energy to open the door. Once your mission was accomplished, it uncovered a tall, blue masked character. The being loomed over you silently, and gazed down upon you. His head fell into a tilt as his soft, deep voice spoke up - grabbing your attention almost immediately.

"Do you want to get kidneys with me?" He leaned forward to connect with your height, his oozing sockets 'leering' into your very soul. His actions caught you off guard, yet his influence played a strong part in your decision.
"I ran out of breakfast," his words were lifeless, yet conveyed his misery. His stomach even growled lightly, screaming at you to make your decision quickly.

"Sure, Jack! Let me just get ready before we go out," you vocalized merrily, returning his question with his desirable response. You achieved wonders with Jack. He was an astounding accomplice to unsolved crimes and he always made things simpler. That was just his personality, and you couldn't help but adore it. You longed for a chaotic, disorderly blood bath without the demanding chore of tidying up the environment after. You dressed according to the atmosphere the mission had created, and grabbed your beloved bat, and mask, before stepping out of your bedroom. You were almost prepared for your day with your mysterious friend, however your stomach rumbled, begging for food prior to the journey. Obliging, you swiftly walked downstairs towards the kitchen to grab a quick snack so you didn't draw out the empty feeling that EJ had. Once you infiltrated the kitchen, you noticed that Toby and Clockwork were enjoying a hearty breakfast together. You still couldn't believe that your best friend was also your enemy's best friend. EJ pushed his weight against the wooden countertop as he watched you rummage through the cabinets for something quick yet satisfying to eat.

"Thanks for rubbing it in," EJ chuckled. His laugh was sweet, and contagious. You couldn't help but laugh out too, causing Clockwork and Toby to glance up at you two. A smirk was displayed on Clockwork's rosy lips as she witnessed the situation.
It was rare to see EJ laugh.

"I didn't mean to! We're going soon, anyways," you chuckled, smacking his shoulder lightly before recalling you had your favourite snack hidden deep within the second cupboard of the kitchen. You strolled towards the chestnut coloured cabinet and dug around inside, finally fishing out your beloved snack.

"Well you two certainly seem close," Clockwork's voice broke the small moment of silence in the kitchen. You could see right through her intent and shut her down immediately; or, you were going to.

"I guess you could say that," Jack's deep voice pronounced, walking over towards you as if he fancied playing a little game. He was inches away from you now, you could smell his delightfully bloody fragrance. His index finger wrapped around your chin, gently pressing up against it to ensure your eyes met with his black caverns. You couldn't stop your cheeks from becoming a bright red.
Why was he doing this?

"Oh my gosh! You two are so cute! Don't you think, Toby?" Clockwork squealed, shaking the life out of the twitching boy next to her. His face filled with unamusement and disgust. That's how he looked at you everyday.
