Toby's POV

"You're confused,"

His dull words duplicated annoyingly in my mind, taking control of a small portion that remained weak to this unknown feeling. That small fragment was growing every day. Stronger.
It felt like those words were hammering through my brain from the inside out. I lingered at one of the many window frames that were littered throughout the mansion. Placing my elbows gently on the feeble framework, I rested my chin gently atop my right hand. I couldn't help but deeply submerge myself in the moonlit woodland. My mind felt hazy, driving me insane from piecing together Jack's seemingly meaningful words. Jack always planned for his words successfully, and moulded them to where he saw fit.
He never said anything he didn't mean.
When the thought of (Y/N) visited my mind, I always took it as blood lust. A sensation that would go away once I saw their perished body. But, what if that wasn't... true? I despised the wretched spell they put me under. There was an error in my emotions. People like me aren't supposed to feel like their world is collapsing under their emotions. Ever since that night I wanted them dead. Ever since they started living here, I was strange.
'What was happening to me?'

9:48pm

I averted my attention to steal a look at my phone clock. Nightly patrol started at ten, so it was best to head down to the front of the building. I lifted up my gray mouth guard and pulled down my goggles, causing an orange tint to alter the perception of the world. Strolling down the hallway of the mansion you could hear all sorts of things, crazy things. It was hard not to tune in. Everyones conversations ended up carrying me, entertained, all the way to the front in no time. Opening the towering front doors, a gust of wind lightly hit against my body and sent my hair flying back. The doors closed behind me, leaving me alone for a few moments.
Nights like these made me feel alive.
It sent a curtain rush down my spine that even waffles couldn't achieve.
A small creek sounded from behind me, I could only assume it was my 'partner'. Who I didn't consider a partner at all. I turned to face their figure, seeing they had all their essential items stored within a backpack and their weapon hung loosely in their hands.
"Ar-are y-y-you ready, dipshit?" I 'greeted', sending a disgusted face thrown my way. I chuckled lightly once I saw their face, it filled me with a sense of achievement.
I was winning tonight.

"You should ask yourself that. You seem pretty distracted, want to bang a dead body?" They spat, directing a finger gun towards me and raised their brow. I could tell they didn't have the energy to start a fight tonight due their sigh hanging heavily in the air. What was up with them? I shook my head to obstruct the thoughts. I don't care... right?

Since it was a Monday night, the forest was lifeless. Not many people ventured out during a night such as this. Parties were scarce and even animals proved to be a rare natural occurrence. Such a night was a lazy night, however, I hated boring nights.
(Y/N) had paused briefly to check an area for any living life, which resulted in me passing their search. Once they started walking again, I placed my foot out in front of them - my heel pressed into the ground and my toes were up.
I heard a sweet yelp before they tumbled to the ground. They thoroughly scrutinized me, their smaller physique being swallowed by a violent aura. I couldn't help but chuckle under my mask.

"You asshole! What's your problem?" They gritted through their teeth, as though they were holding back from attacking me. Their anger only caused joy in my heart and made me burst out laughing. They were pathetic.

"You're m-my pr-problem. If you *tic* weren't h-here my life w-w-would be b-better," I stated, finally calming myself down from the situation. I wiped a small tear from under my goggles.

"Then go patrol somewhere else,"

"Sl-slendy says we h-have to *tic* st-stick together, smartass,"
