Toby's POV

My fixated gaze shifted to land upon two familiar figures. They organized quite a scene once they carried themselves through the towering front doors. The large, blue masked character sported a petite woman on his shoulder while another figure stalked behind him. (Y/N). From EJ's pronouncement I could tell they were heading to the infirmary. Images of the two trailed off into my mind, causing my thoughts to run into absurd places. What was that? I couldn't care less about their relationship. Unnoticed by myself, I levitated to my feet. I hadn't registered that I was standing until a sweet voice broke my thoughts.

"What ya doin, Toby?" Clocky's green eye burned into me, resting her hand on the arm of the linen couch while she awaited my answer.

"I n-need t-to go to th-the bathroom," I hastily answered. My voice built a sense of rush to attempt to seal the act. My lying abilities were nonexistent and never performed the way I expected. I quickly darted towards the stairs so the awkward conversation would die off. I didn't want to answer any further questions.

"But why go to the one upstairs?" Her voice followed me up the stairs, fading off with each step I took. I skipped every second step just to get to the infirmary faster. My mind and heart argued furiously, a powerful force built up in my chest. What was I doing?

I quickly unlocked the door.

Why did I care?

I pushed the door open.

What was I thinking?

I stepped foot into the infirmary.

What was this feeling?

Once the door was out of my way, I examined the aggravating situation. EJ's towering figure took over (Y/N)'s shorter one. His head matched the height of their neck whilst doing the 'demonstration'. From the expression on (Y/N)'s face, I could see they were soaking it all in. They were pleasured by this. It nagged at me, filling me with uncontrollable irritation. However, I couldn't communicate these emotions. I just didn't want to see (Y/N) happy, that would give them satisfaction.
EJ stepped back a bit from the other and tilted his head in my direction.

"Toby, what can we do for you?" EJ's voice pulled in my attention, making me stare vulnerability into his lifeless sockets. (Y/N)'s displeasure was fully displayed on their features like they were screeching for me to exit. I wasn't wanted here, however my presence remained motionless. I didn't want to leave them alone. Why did it matter?

"I-i was looking for N-nurse A-ann," I replied, searching around the room to play the role. It was the sharpest thing that came to mind, yet EJ wasn't buying into it. Out of all the people that lived here, EJ was the hardest to convince and understand.

"She's not here," his nonchalant tone was followed by a twitch of his lips. It was a minute detail, but it played a huge part in understanding the bigger picture. I just...needed to understand the bigger picture...

"I-i can s-see *tic* th-that," I snapped back quietly, ensuring that I didn't get on EJs bad side. Inhaling deeply, I walked myself towards the shiny surgical table to lay eyes on the victim. My eyes wandered her figure to see if there were any clues as to why EJ was doing this. Alas, what would I have found on a flesh bag? Then a replay of last night's encounter flooded my mind. This was definitely no coincidence. I searched my memory of the night prior to link it to the current situation, but I came up blank. The fact that I even cared this much made me want to yank out my hair.
The only thing that made sense was EJ falling for this stupid being.

"Why are you looking at a dead body like that?" (Y/N) questioned, raising a brow to me and watching me like some kind of pervert. That's the look they always gave Ben when he spoke.

"Why are you still here?" EJ asked, his dark sockets leering into my soul. He genuinely wanted to understand, I could tell he didn't want me out of the room. I felt like he wanted me to confess something. (Y/N) was about to say something, yet they paused.

I couldn't help but come to a pause as well once a strong voice called to me.

"Toby, come to my office with (Y/N),"

The voice stated, luring me to come to the desired place. From the twist of (Y/N)'s characteristics, I could tell that they also got the memo. Once they took their leave, I saw a small grin on their face directed towards EJ. Their smile made me... angry. Was my blood lust too hungry for them? Maybe I need to kill them now. Was it possible to kill one of us?
I trailed behind, but I stopped once I hit the door frame. I peered over my shoulder to get a glimpse at EJ.

"Ar-are you a-and..." my voice trailed off. I didn't want to finish the sentence as it would have perceived something else. However, Jack never failed to read the room.

"And what if we were?" He asked, his lips finally cracking into a smile. Now I saw it.
The game he was playing. EJ never struck me as the type.

"I-i-i wouldn't c-care. B-but *tic* don't be sad wh-when they d-die," I blurted out, watching him stalk closer to the body on the table.

"You and I both know that won't happen. Or, you won't let it," he brushed his fingers against the victims cold body, running up to the place the heart would be and clenching his hand into a fist over top of the area.

"You're confused,"

I took a deep inhale, before snapping my head forward. All I could do was shake my head and leave the premises.
What was he trying to say?

( ՞ਊ ՞)→

Once the two proxies got to the soaring doors of the Slendermans office, they pushed gently to make their way inside.
You couldn't help but shoot Toby a glare while you two were inside. Your awareness was now taken by Slender, causing you, as well as Toby, to stand still and listen closely to what your 'boss' had to say.

"Hoodie has come down with a fever," his voice boomed. His fingers were intertwined and his faceless persona directed towards the two of you.

"So I need you two to take patrol this week," the sensation of dread filled the room. Both you and Toby simultaneously cracked your heads towards each other.

"But--"

"You are to learn to work together. I will not allow my 'children' to remain dysfunctional, do I make myself clear?" His voice carried annoyance in it, which made any sort of protesting dangerous. One wrong move and your head would be another decoration for the interior of the mansion.

"Yes sir," was all you could utter before you left the room slowly. Toby followed behind, shutting the doors to not disturb Slender. You couldn't believe Slender just stuck you with Toby. He could have at least paired you up with Masky and let Toby nature Hoodie back to good health. Yet, here you were, suffering. You glanced at the twitching boy, already engulfed by aggravation just by seeing his face. First he breaks up your time with Jack, now he's working with you. Was this really what your life came down to? What a pain.

"Y-y-you better *tic* keep up, donkey," he taunted before heading down the hallway.

This was going to be impossible.
