"Okay, I'm gonna go to the bathroom, be right back," Nadia said to Ashlyn, even though the girl was too focused on her studies, before she walked off towards the bathroom in Ashlyn's house.
After the whole listening in on her and EJ's conversation, Nadia also found out that Ashlyn needed to study for an AP Psych test, so Nadia offered to help since she did get an 'A+' in that class in her sophomore year.
And what better way was there to gain more of Ashlyn's trust?
After she was finished going to the bathroom, she washed her hands and then opened the door to go back to where Ashlyn was sitting in the kitchen, but then stopped when she heard a familiar voice.
"Uncle Dennis and Aunt Debbie aren't home, right? I don't really want an audience for this," she heard EJ say, and her eyes widened slightly. Was he talking about the song for Nini? she thought.
"Uh, thank you?" Ashlyn said, a little offended. Nadia hoped that she wouldn't say that she was also in the house.
"No, you know what I mean. Okay, you ready?" EJ asked.
"I'm just impressed you wrote a whole song," Ashlyn told him, and Nadia silently sighed in relief since it seemed like Ashlyn forgot she was still there.
"Yeah, it's got metaphors and everything," EJ said with a laugh as Nadia took a few steps closer to the kitchen, finding a place where she was close enough but still couldn't be seen by the both of them.
"We'll I'm proud of you. Sing from the heart," she told him.
Nadia heard him exhale and say, "Here goes." He then turned on the music and started to sing.
Before you go and make that face you make when you're mad at me
"So mad at me."
Let me say it's not my place going through your voicemail
And your historyAnd if this were a TV show you know I'd have to go and plead insanity
'Cause the lyin' and spyin' and pryin' isn't really my personality"I'm an idiot for taking your phone."
Nadia peered around the corner slowly, making sure she couldn't be seen. But when she saw that EJ started to dance, she had to quickly place a hand over her mouth to smother her laughs.
This is my fault, my bad
If I said a million sorrys
How about a billion sorrys?
OohNadia's eyes then widened when EJ sat in front of where Ashlyn was sitting, making it easier for Ashlyn to see her. And when her and Ashlyn made eye contact, she quickly brought a finger up to her lips to signal her to keep quiet.
You shine just like the stars
And I'm not even a night light
'Cause what I did wasn't so bright
I'm really sorry
