I walked out of the dark tunnel again and found myself at the farthest edge of the school's property. Lisa had promised to meet me outside. And it didn't take long for me to get where she was. Quickly spotting a shiny McLaren parked on the other side of the road, I sucked in the night air in my lungs and walked up to the car as brave as I could.

Lisa didn't look at me when I got in, and that made me nervous and a little hurt. I never knew the privilege of having her look at me meant so much until now.

"Lisa," I said, breaking the silence. "Are you still mad at me?"

Lisa's hand over the steering wheel tightened. Her eyes kept staring through the windshield, but she didn't say anything. I couldn't stand it anymore. Lisa couldn't just freeze me out like that. Then I reached over and grabbed her face in my hands, turning her head to me. She looked startled at my sudden act and stared back at me with those confused eyes. I didn't wait for her to speak and just pressed my lips against hers. Her sweet-scented breath caressed my cheeks as I was coaxing her mouth with my tongue, begging her to open up and let me in.

Lisa, being held captive in my hands, finally melted at my touch. She let me slide through her soft lips, allowing me to taste her as hungry as she always did with mine. We tilted our heads and deepened the kiss. The tension between us was slowly fading from our bodies. Lisa pushed her sleek velvet tongue back into my mouth, flicking around with my own as she was gaining back her dominance. And I let her have her way with me without a protest. After a while, we broke off for some intake of air. The silence remained as we kept staring into each other's eyes.

"Lisa, please," I whispered. "Promise me that after we're done with this, you will let me explain."

"Okay," she said, "I promise," and gave me a tiny smile at last.

Then we settled back in our seats. Lisa's face was a bit brighter than when I came in. I was somewhat able to breathe again. She started the engine and worked on the gear shift, and then we shot out of the place.

We ventured around town, following the map on a mini electronic screen on the car's dashboard. The screen showed locations of restaurants, famous nightclubs, and casinos with bright red dots. Sometimes, we stopped and went inside to check the place, which caused a lot of whistling and hooting from the people. Sometimes we didn't enter and just drove pass because Lisa's exceptional radar-like sense could detect strange chills from far away. But still, there wasn't any vampire in sight. I wasn't even sure what we were looking for. Using our extrasensory, we tried to pick up signals from each spot we'd gone in. We probably had been to twenty entertainment places until we found ourselves in another casino's nightclub. Lisa stopped the car and looked through the window.

"Any signs?" I asked, following her intense gaze.

"A little hint," she said. "But I'm not quite clear yet."

"Let's get inside then," I said.

"Are you sure about this?" Lisa asked. I nodded with determination. Then we walked into the entrance which was decorated with blinking lights and colorful lasers.

Nobody tried to stop us because we both dressed completely in punk clothes. I wore a short skirt with a black leather jacket over my loose t-shirt. On top of that, Joy had done a pretty good job of turning me into a total brat. I put on a scarf around my neck so that no one could see my necklace. Lisa was flawless. Her rocker jeans really did her curves justice. I couldn't stop myself from looking at her rear end. Her printed white tank top and sparkly jacket were perfectly matched with a pair of combat boots. I felt like I was walking with a model, who was ready to do a photoshoot. People practically made way for Lisa as we entered the club as if they were afraid to touch us, but their eyes never stopped following.
