My brain says wtf!

🎵 It's the hap–happiest season of all. With those holiday greetings and happy meetings
When friends come to call
It's the hap–happiest season of all!

My vision is swimming inbetween blurred lines as I slowly gain consciousness. I can't feel my leg or the upper part of my body whatsoever but I feel like I'm in a comfort zone. The smell of chicken peppersoup and another sweet savouring scent I cannot decipher sizzles past my nose. I can hear the background music clearly as it gives me the chills of a typical Christmas holiday.

🎵 There'll be parties for hosting
Marshmallows for toasting
And caroling out in the snow
There'll be scary ghost stories
And tales of the glories of Christmases long, long ago!

Goosebumps rise in every pore of my skin and I feel so relaxed that I can smell the festivity of the holiday in the air. The small fantasy is ruined however, when I hear a crashing sound followed by harsh whispers.

"Jerry please don't tell me you broke the china ceramic bowl!"

"Uh, no mum! I'm fixing something else."

"You know what? Just shush and get busy with your life. You're going to disturb your friend if you continue with this careless behaviour of yours."

"Mum!" He crys out in a voice of disbelief and I stifle a smile at that.

"Go before I use this spatula on your head. Now!" She urges in a tone of urgency and he grumbles under his breath as he ascends the stairs. I hear a gentle movement of footsteps and before realising it, Jerry's mother comes to where I am lying down. Though my eyes are not opened, I can feel it.

"Hey sweetie, I know you're fully awake."

I open my eyes gently, afraid the environment would be far different from the sweet dream I'm having.

"I brought peppersoup for you," She adds as she tries to help me to seat up. I use the back of my palm to furiously wipe my eyes, willing the blur sight to go off. Eventually it goes off and I am left to squint a little bit to adjust to my area settings before I remember what happened previously.

"Ayo..." I slur in a worried tone, attempting to get up the same time.

"Your brother is fine. Just sit still and take this peppersoup. It would help you to recover fast." She urges with a warm smile that melts my insides. Jerry's mother is the most down to earth woman I have ever come across with, well apart from my aunty Onome and Kiki's mother.

During the course of our rehearsals for the Triple-J's album, Jerry's house was our substitute if we didn't use the studio at all. His parents were welcoming and loving and I always wished I had a family as perfect as his. They treated us all like thier children and for this period of two months I've been to his place, I've become attached to his family especially his mother and his siblings.
