Her day so far was normal, ordinary, slightly boring but nothing that would make her fall asleep on the spot. However, Theo's day was busy as he ran from meeting to meeting arguing over every little thing and aspect of the new project.

He had practically given up by the time lunch came around. He had sent Evelyn to get something for him to eat as he was feeling slightly unwell as he was sat at his desk his fingers rubbing his temple in a circular motion in an attempt to relieve the tension while his other hand rubbed his shoulder trying to relieve the pain.

She had rushed around the street in search of something to eat, from sandwich stores to soup shops in hunt of something that he would want. but once she got to the top floor of the building, she wished she had run around like a headless chicken a little more when she was greeting her. The sight of her mother.

She scrunched her face in disgust before fixing it quickly so she would have one less complaint from her mother.

"So, where have you been shouldn't you be working. Not slacking off are we Evelyn?" her mother asked in a patronizing tone of voice.

Mary Turner, she was what people would call a control freak, she always craved to be right, to control the world around her, even control her daughter.

She was well into her fifties and yet she acted like a twenty-year-old a very Catholic twenty-year-old. You could see her age however her face was lined with wrinkles from her content scowl and patronizing looks towards other people around her, you didn't need to meet her to know what type of person she would be it was clear as day.

she was a foot taller than Evelyn who was 5'6 her mother had a thin frame from her dieting which sue made Evelyn do when she was a teenager and child. She War very modest clothes always showing her disliking for Evelyn's fashion sense. Nothing her daughter done was good enough to her expectations were set so high even Jesus wouldn't be able to reach them.

"I was getting lunch mother," Evelyn said holding up the bags.

"Getting lunch?... getting lunch? why don't you pack a lunch, then you would have more time for working and not running around the streets" Mary said looking over her daughter

"How unprofessional, that skirt is atrocious are you an assistant or a hooker, what you trying to do sleep with your boss, he must have low standards" his mother commented before walking around the clear space of the office.

"Other what do you want?" Evelyn asked knowing her mother wasn't there to put input on her work ethic and fashion choice.

"can't I visit my daughter before her birthday?" she asked her tone giving away that it wasn't the reason for her visiting.

Evelyn gave her mother a deadpanned before leaning on her desk crossing her arms.

"don't give me that look I came to drop this off," her mother said handing her a wrapped present before leaving.

sagging she stood back up placing the so-called 'gift' on her desk before grabbing the lunch bag and walking into her boss's office.

"Afternoon sir" she greeted walking into the room, placing the bag on his desk.

"Afternoon Ms. Turner" he greeted back straightening up in his chair.

"I got you some chicken noodle soup, I hope that's okay?" she said waiting for confirmation.

"Thank you that's great" he assured taking it from her hands, their fingers slightly brushing but both quickly pulled away.

"Alright, I'm going to go eat my lunch" she awkwardly said moving back towards the door.

"Oh, Ms. turner could you cancel all my meetings, I can't stand those stuck-up pricks any longer" Theo requested.

"Sure, thing sir," she said leaving and dimming the lights in his room before closing the door behind her.

she quietly sat at her desk and ate her lunch before canceling all his meetings and rescheduling. by the time she had done that it was time for her to leave.

And before she knew it, she was back home lounging on her couch opening the gift her mother gave her, meanwhile Julia was flinging things around Evelyn's bedroom. The things she liked were thrown into the Living-room everything else on the bed.

"So, what is it?" Julia called from the bedroom referencing the present Evelyn was holding but still didn't want to open.

"You haven't opened it yet?" Julia questioned walking back into the; living room only to see the present still unopened.

"I just don't want to, what if it's something awful?" she asked holding it like it was a bomb.

"Never mind common let's get you dressed," Julia said a smile gracing her lips as she pulled her limp friend from the couch.

Evelyn rolled her eyes as she was lifted from the couch and pushed into the center Centre of the room as Julia held different dresses against her body trying to find the best one for tonight.

"I still can't believe you twenty-five now, you're catching up to me now" Julia joked as she was a month older.

Out of all the dresses Evelyn had Julia only found three appropriate ones. The first was a thigh-high v neck spaghetti-strapped royal blue sequined dress.

The second was a black skin-tight spaghetti-strapped mid-thigh dress.

The third was a flowy black past mid-thigh spaghetti-strapped with a sweetheart neckline which came covered with a top of black mesh and a collar.

Evelyn prefers the third one the most as it met her modest needs, and she wasn't a big fan of dressing up.

While she showered, Julia ironed found a pair of shoes and clutch that would go with the dress before laying out all of Evelyn's makeup on the coffee table before flicking through the magazine she brought with her, stopping on the photo of Evelyn's boss.

Evelyn sighed after getting out of the shower she wrapped herself up in her robe before walking into the bedroom to find her clothes waiting for her. she put her underwear on before getting into the dress before zipping it up at the back, she then pulled on a pair of blocks heeled leather ankle boots. she wandered into the living room only to find Julia eating some Cheetos and reading her magazine.

"Oo la, la what is this before my eyes, Evelyn. It can't be" Julia joked sitting up before patting the spot next to her.

Evelyn joined her as Julia pulled up a hairdryer.

Evelyn sighed knowing she was going to be there for hours.

"So, what happened to your leg?" Julia asked referring to the wound.

"Fell down some godforsaken stairs at work," Evelyn said thankful that she was helped by Theo.

"How did that happen isn't there like an elevator?" Julia questioned.

"Yeah, there is but it was out of service somehow, I'm thankful Mr. Williams was there"

"Wait, wait hold the damn phone, Mr. Williams. As in Theo Williams?" Julia asked needing clarification.

"Yeah, we got lunch together," Evelyn said like it was no big deal which it wasn't.

"You went on a date? Oh my god, that's just precious" Julia said with excitement in her voice.

"No, no it wasn't a date just lunch that's all" she tried to clarify

"Did he pay, and order?" Julia asked an eyebrow raised

"Well yes but I don't see"

"I was a date, oh girl you're so lucky, I would die just to look at that man" Julia overdramatized.

Leaving Evelyn in thought to herself 'was It a date or not?'
