I clenched on his shirt tightly with a squeezing pull, terrified of what had came from beyond my vision. The viridescent waters teared apart as it gushed down in the drains. My eyes wandered around, with people looking with muttering whispers and sockets that came to a bawl.

Merrik hummed softly, the haunting whispers reverberating through out the twinkling town as the people's expressions vanquish slowly with a tick of the clock. They blinked, looking around nonchalantly and stepping out of the throng as some began to take heed over the broken pub instead of the cause.

Merrik pulled me away from the crowd without a glance. I craned my head to the side in search for Jack's presence from the circus, but he was far from being near.

I let him pull me away without alarm, unable to decipher what had just happened from the pub. I blinked, Merrik's hand coming to a loose as I fluttered my eyelids leisurely. He sat beside the shallow oceans, letting his worn-out leather boots seep with the tranquil waters.

The stars shun from above, finding the dim lights somewhat at ease. My timid shoulders fell into the silence of the silent gush of the waves hitting the withered rocks with eyes wandering from the manor that stood neatly on the hill from a mile away.

Merrik pulled me beside him as I sat down on the sand with arms resting on both of my knees. "You didn't have to do that, Merrik." I spoke softly, turning my gaze towards him. His emerald eyes looked far from mine, staring deeply into the labyrinth ocean with a hint of melancholy. Somehow did I pitied the man that sat beside me who sat still with pursed lips.

His fingertips that reaches for the ocean from beneath sprung to a little whirl, touching the tip of his finger as it tore away from his hand. It danced like leaves that blew from the breeze, making my lips unseal and ajar from the sight of the brilliant cerulean.

A silhouette of a woman appeared in front of my eyes as it tumbled back to its heels, the shallow waters swallowing her body whole. I inched back, hearing the faint shriek of the figure I had witnessed. Merrik's green eyes died from its gleam, his sight finally turning to me.

"I like you, little bird," he muttered out of his lips, letting me catch a glimpse of his knife like teeth. He shook his head and leaned towards my face, "No," he whispered under his breath with a small frown that seemed to have expressed. He darted his eyes upwards once more, his hand deliberately inching to touch my cheekbone.

I raised a brow, unable to move but only to look. His nails began to wither, slowly coming to a point with marine like scales showing itself out of the oblivion as the sides of every fingers webbed. I turned away with a bite of my lip, worry coming across my face.

His verdant-like eyes glowed with strength, his cold touch making me tremble and almost jump back. Merrik's once brown hair turned into ashy blue.

I held back a breath as Merrik's eyes softened with our lips inches away from touching. "I love you, (y/n)." he confessed as our lips crashed, his teeth biting my lip softly while I froze in place.

In a blink had I felt myself drawn in. I leaned forward, wanting it all to last longer as he pushed me slowly on the sandy floor. We pulled away while I catch my breath.

He stroke my cheek with one pointy finger, the glimpse that I saw seemingly ceasing to exist as his brown hair came back to view. I brushed through his hair with my fingertips in disbelief, but it wasn't a dream.

"I love you too, Merrik." I answered back, lifting myself up from the sand. He smiled as both of our forehead touch.
Our hands intertwined with one another while I chuckled, "Then will you come with me, (y/n)?" he asked, making me stop and look at him with a puzzled look.

He turned my head to the ocean floors with a beam, "Come into the ocean, my love. And we will rule it together."
