JENNIE'S POV

"Jesus, Jennie! You scared the crap out of us!"

Yes. Chaeyoung was upset. Jisoo was upset. And I was feeling jubilant

"I texted you, didn't I?"

My friends frowned, unamused, and crossed their arms in a very serious manner. Very, very, serious

"You didn't do anything to the bus, did you?" Jisoo queried, "Or to anyone there in general?"

"No" I replied, "But Lisa did. To the people, I mean. Specifically a girl. The bus was perfectly fine the last time I checked"

When I said that, they sagged in relief-a crisis avoided, I supposed. Though, I'm not sure what crisis they were trying to avoid. I found it diverting how they didn't seem to care that Lisa had done something, but I hadn't mind, either

When I stepped off the bus, Chaeyoung and Jisoo spotted me and immediately pulled me off to some part of the school while Lisa watched, stunned at my kidnapping. It gave me a weird of Deja Vu as I looked back at it

We were seated at a secluded table

"Can I go back to Lisa, now?" I asked huffing and crossing my arms defiantly. "I don't particularly like getting dragged off to random places"

"We know," Chaeyoung said matter of factly. I lightly glowered

Jisoo suggestively hummed and tilted her head with an almost cat-like demeanor. "You've been spending a lot of time with her" there was an almost amused undertone to it, but I heard the slightest drop of suspicion behind it and she flicked her gaze to Chaeyoung and then back to me. "Almost too much..."

"We live together"

Then they looked at each other and then back at me

Almost to my amusement, they comically frowned, their lips pouted like children starved from attention and they groaned, whined, and protested about my lack of presence in their life

"Jennie! Why haven't you hung out with us lately?" Chaeyoung fussed with expressive land motions, "You're always with that Lisa girl at lunch and you know you make a great repellent against the guys here" she planted her face on the table rather dramatically and proceeded to sigh theatrically, "Honestly, why don't you just invite your new friend over to our table?"

"Why don't you?"

"You think I haven't?"

"I thought you didn't like her?" I didn't bother asking her why Lisa would listen to me instead

Chaeyoung snorted and straightened herself up in a snap. "No, no. Sure, she may have a difficult personality, being all gloom and edge and all, but she's your friend and like any of the previous people who took on that challenge, we-" she pointed to herself and Jisoo, "-Welcome them with open arms" then she frowned, "Problem is, Lisa, doesn't seem inclined in wanting to associate with us"

She went on and on about how she'd been trying to make small conversations with my roommate-great her, acknowledge her, and make small comments-none of which were able to pierce through Lisa's cold demeanor. I felt...Uncomfortable with the thought of anyone other than me conversing with my new friend, I pushed that feeling aside and glanced at Jisoo, instead. She seemed oddly invested with Chaeyoung's face

I left them by the table after I told them that I'd ask Lisa if she wanted to sit with them at lunch before the school bell rang. With my feet dragging aimlessly around the pavement, I spotted a familiar head with hair as silky as a pour of sweet, rich chocolate, waving seamlessly against a wall
