Crazy Over You

CHAPTER 40

JENNIE'S POV

A new, lovely day began. A new week. A new hour

For once, life was silent again, my head was quiet, hushed like a fallen wind, as it should and always have been

Quiet. Peaceful. Silent

Lisa had recently frequented her display of rare affection to me--which I shamelessly relished in--and she's become less insistent with knowing my trivial past

Anyways, Chaeyoung almost crashed the car again

"You what?!"

On our way to school, I had just been explaining to my best friends how it was alright for them to be intimate with one another as it only signified mutual affection, and I did not quarrel with what came after as a side effect of such a relationship

I've been trying to get them to stop being so fidgety and awkward with me ever since I'd witnessed their little smooching sessions--as one may call it--weeks ago and now I was getting quite irked by the odd tension they'd put around me

So to help them understand why I didn't mind, I told them that I've been kissing Lisa, too

"Oh my God! Chae! Watch the road, you blonde bimbo!" Jisoo had to grab the wheel before it hit another car, but Chaeyoung was still gaping at me with all the shock she could muster

"You actually-with Lisa? What?" She was having great difficulty fathoming the relationship between Lisa and me. "Why?"

"Because I like her"

"B-but, what-" she kept tripping over her words. "Okay, hold on for a second"

She drove to the side of the road and switched seats with Jisoo who had rolled her eyes at the arrangement but complied anyway. Wouldn't want her to crash the car again and almost kill me like that one time near the end of summer

To this day, I still couldn't comprehend how she got her license

"When?" She asked as soon Jisoo hit the gas

"When what?"

She waved her hands around, exasperated. "When did you-you know? Kiss? Or, no, wait. When did you start liking her in a...non-platonic way?"

"It's none of our business, Chae" Jisoo chided, saving me from responding to a question I had no answer to. I liked Lisa, but I wasn't quite sure when that had shifted. "If Jennie wants to kiss someone, let her" she paused. "If it's with consent, of course" she suspiciously eyed me through the mirror. "You haven't forced her, have you?"

I was deeply offended

"Of course, I've been forcing her. With mind control. It's a new skill set I've recently developed"

They hadn't said anything for a second until they confidingly glanced at one another

"Was that sarcasm?"

"Was"

I huffed

Chaeyoung persisted with her queries, still baffled at the mere thought that I was "Involved" with someone

"Okay, but seriously. Do you like her that way? You were never interested in that sort of thing, before. You even slapped me with a book for even suggesting it!" Right, I did that

"Well, I'm only interested in Lisa" I declared

"But..." She paused and then a peculiar expression formed on her face. She pursed her lips and shrugged. "I mean, I get it. She is pretty hot. Scary, but hot"

Hot? What an odd way to describe someone. Lisa's temperature was quite normal, if not a little warmer

"Chae" Jisoo didn't like that comment, however
