chapter thirty eight -

▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃

FEW DAYS before February would start, it seems peaceful- nothing big had really happened, for now. Just like what they would say, calm before a storm.

You sighed, walking out from your humble abode to get this week's groceries, but it isn't that plenty- you can manage as long you were quick. The regret for deciding on going out alone around three thirty during the afternoon was such a bad move.

It's not like you wanted to do grocery shopping but your second brother bribed you with money- you just can't let go of the money. Hideo gave you around ten thousand yen and says to keep the change only if you're the one who's going out.

Being a greed to money is such a disease, but what can we do when all problems would just disappear in a blink of an eye when you're rich?

Even if you hate the disgusting reality, nothing can be changed.

"Come back soon," The cashier bids their goodbye at you while walking out from the store. The white plastic bag that swings back and forth each time you take a step. A hum of a song that you've been listening to, takes over your mind.

Your legs slowly takes you back to your home streets way. The sun starting to set down as stars begins to show, twinkling at the figure walking.

Keep on moving forward, that's what move people says but what if you can't go on anymore? What would you do? Fall back through a hell hole? or wait for someone to come and find you?- even if it'll take many years for that to happen.

But you're independent this time- you can climb back up even if no one would come and find for you. You've alrea learned your lesson by the past actions and decisions that you had made.

Shivering from the cold, you sniffed and let out a sigh. Narrowing your eyes to the side- you muttered, "I should've brought a jacket with me- oh?"

"Here," Koko wraps his authentic leather jacket around your shoulders. You halted and blinked- questioning his actions. It feels like that one scene in every series your brother watches every night.

An awkward laugh that had left you, "Thanks..."

In his eyes his eyes nothing but a person he wanted to know more. The conversation you and Inui were having back in the motorcycle shop lingers around his mind. And everytime Inui would see you- he would follow you wherever you go. What if Inui starts to get attached to you? All Koko have been hearing from Inui is always your name. It annoyed him and yet it perks up an interest.

Or maybe it's because he couldn't simply let go of Akane... That maybe he might lose the person who Akane is related to- Koko would forget on how she'll look like.

The awkward tension you both were giving. Standing stiffly beside the highway with cars passing by. No one talked, both of you just stood there. But you can feel the tense stare the raven head has been giving you. Pursing your lips to a thin line, you softly gripped tight on the plastic bag you've been holding.

Turning your head with a stiff smile, "So... Kokonoi-san..." You tried to start a conversation. Koko raises a brow.

"Inui-san isn't with you today, I assume." Scratching your cheeks. Despite of Koko following Inui- you both rarely got the chance to speak together that properly. It's always quick phrases of greetings and so on, but it's nothing like the conversations you and Inui would have.
