Chapter 7 - game one

A week after my little incident with the third year girls, I'm fully healed and getting back to practice, my father and I are still not talking but I don't care.

At practice after school one evening, we were just getting ready to start practice like normal when coach Ukai said "Alright you lot, I have arranged a practice match for you" we all looked at each other and Daichi asked

"With who coach"

"The neighbourhood association team, they will be here at 5" I giggled to myself which caught the eye of Asahi, Suga and Hinata. Asahi said,

"You seem excited don't you" I rubbed the back of my neck

"Yeah I am a bit" Hinata threw a ball at me and I caught it, he asked

"Why Charlotte" before I could answer Suga said

"This is your first match for high school isn't it" I nodded my head

"Yeah, but how did you know that" he blushed lightly and said,

"I remember you telling me last week" I blushed lightly and smiled

"And that shows you were listening" I smile more and start to stretch.

Takeda's P.O.V

As soon as I come off of the phone from the coach of Nekoma I run to the gym with the best news. We have a game with them! At the weekend training camp, this is there first match since they won their practice match with Aoba johsai. Finally they can have the trash can show down.

I ran jnto the gym to see everyone practicing just as Charlotte spiked a ball, I smiled and shouted

"WE GOT ANOTHER ONE" everyone looked at me as I walked in coach Ukai said

"Got what specks?"

"A match" they all came over and Daichi said

"With who"

"Nekoma high school"

"That means they are here for a training camp right?" Charlotte asked as she wiped her face

"Yes that's right"

"The famous cats versus crows aka the trash can show down" coach Ukai laughed at her and said

"And you would know wouldn't you Charlotte"

"Of course I do, my brother always went on about it"

"We are to play them in a match on the last day of the camp, so we have a whole week to practice for it" I told them, they all nodded when Daichi said

"Wait did you beg again?" I laughed

"Maybe a little but they agreed" coach clapped his hands for everyone to get back to practice which they did.

Charlotte's P.O.V

We all got back to practice after Takeda-sensei's announcement, I was excited thst I was going to be a part of the trash can show down.

At 5pm the neighbourhood association arrived and we started to get set up, one of the guys from the neighbourhood team looked at me and said "excuse me young lady are you playing too" I looked at him and nodded my head

"Yes I am"

"But your a female"

"The principle allowed me to be on the boys team so here I am" I smiled at them and walked onto the court.

I was on Daichi's team while Suga, Asahi and Noya were on the other team, one of them said "alright kids don't poop your pants" I couldn't help but smirk to myself thinking "no one has seen my serve yet" and the game began.

Daichi was first to serve and it was successful one too "nice serve Daichi!" I called out as I stayed at the net waiting, Suga set the ball and one of the neighbourhood association team spiked it, I was a second too late to stop it. "My bad guys" Hinata patted my back and said

"Dont worry Charlotte you'll get the next one" I smiled at him and waited for the next serve. The game went in and we were doing well finally it was my turn to serve. I grabbed the ball and went to the end of the court I heard Daichi say

"Give us a good one Charlotte" I smirked at him and as the whistle blew I threw the ball into the air and did a very powerful serve hitting the floor on the over side earning us a point. Everyone stared at you. Ukai said

"That's the first time I've seen a female do that" I smile and carried on playing" the ball was on our side of the net and Ennoshita had passed the ball to Kageyama I screamed "KAGEYAMA OVER HERE" and just like at the first practice I had I gave us another point, everyone one impressed with my serves and spikes.

Halfway through the game one of the neighbourhood team smirked and I knew he was going to do a serve that not everyone will be able to receive and that he did, he did a jump float serve right into my direction and I said to myself "a jump float serve you can't receive normally you have too do it from underneath" and I did exactly that.

Time skippy

At the end of the match my team end up losing, but not by much though, while I was taking a drink of water one of the neighbourhood association team came over to me and said

"Your skills are very impressive" I smiled

"Thank you, yours are too"

"Thanks, where did you get thst skill from"

"My brother, he taught me from the age of 3"

"How did you know do receive the jump float serve from the bottom"

"My brother told me all about the different serves and how to receive them"

"Well you are very talented"

"Thank you" after more of a conversation with the neighbourhood association team they left, while all of us went too coach Ukai's store for meet buns. Tanaka said

"So how was your first practice game Charlotte"

"It was amazing! I loved it" and with that we ate our buns then made our way home.
