chapter 10 - training camp (part 3)

Still Ukai's P.O.V

I heard all of them come back but I noticed one of them was missing "wait where's Hinata" Charlotte wiped the sweat from her forehead and said

"He and Kageyama decided to race, then Hinata ran off" she took a drink of water as Kageyama looked at her and said

"Why did you say that?, we weren't" I sighed and said

"I don't care onr of you smart asses go and find him" Sugawara nodded and left the gym and went to find him.

Charlotte's P.O.V

I sat on my bed reading over my study notes, when I noticed Suga wasn't quite himself I said "are you okay Suga?" He looked at me and smiled and said

"Yes im fine, i just need to talk to coach about something" I nodded my head and went back to reading and I knew what it was about. I saw Daichi and Asahi leave to follow him.

Suga's  P.O.V

I walked out of the room to go and find coach Ukai. I saw him at a vending machine getting some coffee, he started to leave so I called out "um coach?" Hevturned around to look at me and said

"Hm? Whats up?" I saw that he was tired so I wanted to be quick

"Us third years... we don't get a next season... that's why I want us to win as many games as we can... so we more chances to play" he looked at me and his eyes widened, he gasped as I continued

"And if Kageyama has a better likely hood of making that happen for us"  I frown lightly and continued "Well then I think you shouldn't hesitate to put him in" coach Ukai looked at me and gasps

"Daichi and Asahi have been playing together since their first year. I wanna stand on the court with them and the more plays the better. Its oksy if I only get to fill in, like if Kageyama gets tired or something happens to put him out or whatever, he might pity me for being set aside for a first year..."

"But as long as I can keep having a chance to play" I look at him in the eyes and say "that's fine"

"Even if I don't get to be the official setter, I'll never give up on volleyball... I just want to be the best part of the team I can" he sighs and I bow my head

"Sorry, if I'm over stepping my bounds" coach Ukai smiled softly and said

"Sugawara" I looked up at him

"Huh"

"I think I might have underestimated you" I when my eyes and open my mouth "honestly your kinda freaking me out right now" I gasp

"What" I sawchim clench his fist then he continued

"I don't have any coaching experience, but I swear I will do whatever I can, to keep you guys on the winning track" I smile brightly and bow my head and said to him

"Thank you sir"

"Sure"

Charlotte's P.O.V

I heard everything that Suga had said. I couldn't believe he would do that, I ran to the room where I was sleeping and stayed on my bed, I heard Daichi and Asahi come back and they were talking about Suga, just at that moment I heard Daichi say "hey Suga" I gripped my pillow

"Charlotte, Suga is back" Kiyoko said as she looked at me but I stayed silent for a few minutes until I said

"How could you Suga" he said

"How could I what Charlotte?" I turn to look at him on the verge of crying

"How could you do that to yourself Suga" he looks at me with a confused expression "how could you give up your position to a first year" I felt tears run down my face, he rubbed his neck and sighed

"Kageyama has more talent than I do and will make the team succ-" I cut him off

"So do you, you have more than enough talent to succeed too, did you ever think anout that? No! And what about me the only setter I can have set for me it you!"

"I-I'm sorry Charlotte b-but you can learn with Kageyama"

"No I can't! You set perfe try for me, he doesn't we have ond day left of training before the match and I won't get to play" I start crying and push past him and run to the balcony to cry.
