Chapter 3 - Anger

After practice I head home to find my parents arguing again, this is normal now, ever since my brother left for America as part of their volleyball team, they have been at each other's throats.

As I stepped into the living room both of my parents turned to me and my mother said, "Charlotte why are you so late?"

"I'm in the volleyball club at school so I had practice" I saw my fathers face twitch he said,

"oh great, that's all we need another one into that silly sport" I was shocked, so I muttered

"it's not a silly sport" which my father heard me and got terribly angry

"it is, I don't know why you play it, I won't allow you to play the sport" I was not having this

"you can't stop me from doing something that I love to do father, I want to be like Ariza, I want to achieve in this and go to nationals just like he did" I seemed to have pissed him off a bit because he slapped me around the face leaving a stinging sensation on it he said,

"don't you ever bring him up again, he is no son of mine" and with that he walked off and I ran up to my room.

Time skippy

After school I was still angry about what my father had said about my brother, to make matters worse, I have a big bruise on my face which did not help at all. I walked into the gym with a dark aura around me, I could sense that everyone was looking at me when I heard someone call my name "Charlotte are you alright" I looked up and it was Daichi I nodded my head, Tanaka said

"Charlotte what happened to your face" by this point everyone was around me looking at the big bruise on my face, I saw my cousin's shocked face he sighed and said,

"he did it didn't he" I clenched my fists and Hinata started asking questions

"what do you mean him" I could not answer him, all I said was

"set me a ball" everyone looked at me again, so I screamed "SET ME A BALL" everyone flinched at this anger. Kageyama set me a ball and I hit it with all of my anger filled within the hit, that when it touched the floor the ball burst. Everyone looked at me when my cousin Tadashi hugged me and that is when I broke, he rubbed my back as everyone stared at us "h-he s-said it again Yam-Yam, but worse"

"what did he say this time"

"he said that I'm not allowed to play and that Ariza isn't his son" Hinata had a confused expression on his face and spoke

"Wait I don't understand" I looked up at my cousin, then the rest of the team who were just as confused, so I pulled myself together and said,

"the person who gave me this bruise, was my father" they all gasp "he hates volleyball with the passion, when he found out about my brother playing it, he went mad, he told my brother to stop but of course he didn't. when my brother started teaching me he got worse and now he is not at home, I am the one who ends up being targeted and told to stop but I cannot" I started to cry again "I want to see the crows fly again, like they did and go to nationals just like he did" I was sobbing when Sugawara hugged me and said,

"we'll get through this together, as a team right guys?"

"RIGHT" they all shouted, after that we got back to our practice, and I do the best I can to help this team succeed.
