That night whid everyone was asleep, I get woken up by a phone light I looked up to see that Sugavwas on his phone and hd was writing something, probably some study notes. I turned over and went back to sleep.
The next day we all gathered in the gym for practice. I didn't talk or even look at Suga, coach Ukai came in and sat us down and said "listen up" he held up a board with the starting line up on it. Of course I wasn't on there, coach Ukai continued "here's our starting order for Nekoma" once he showed us who was in the starting line up, the second years, Tadashi and I were pissed, Suga wasn't because he knew he wasn't, I mean I was pissed because of Suga. I looked at the floor and my cousin patted my back, I smiled softly at him and coach continued,
"I know you haven't had enough time to get aquantied, so I don't expect any of you to becperfdct, just because we've got a hot shot libero and our ace just came back doesn't mean victory is a safe bet. The winner keeps the ball in play, so let's see how far this team can take it, those damn pussy cats are not gonna know what hit em!" We all got excited and screamed
"YEAH" after that we started to get ready for our practice. I stood on my own notvwanting to talk to anyone, I could see coach Ukai was looking at me, I looked away from him, I knew that he would want tovtalk to me about was wrong but I didn't want to see or speak to him. I walked away from him and saw Noya talking to Asahi he said
"Just forget about Suga" I stopped dead in my tracks and clenched my fists and said,
"Dont you dare say that!" Everyone looked at me, noya said
"What do you mean"
"I mean how dare you say that about Suga!"
"I'm just saying that Asahi should feel sorry for Ennoshita" I turned towards him so I could face him and said
"Ennoshita has another year left! Suga doesn't! This is his last year, he doesn't get another chance!" I heard Tsukishima smirk and say
"Oh I get it, little Charlotte here is upset that she won't get to play"
"No thats not it" I saw coach Ukai sigh and he said
"The reason why I didn't put you in is because you are the secret weapon"
"So that's why... you used that name to hide me away in thd dark like my old team, back at clear water" I saw Tadashi look at me and said
"I thought the sale went through on the house" I sigh and clenched my fists
"No... I went there.... but I got bullied because I used to train with the boys, the school decided to put me on the team but the coach hid me away.... so I told my parents I was bullied so I could get out and come to here instead" coach Ukai walked up to me and said
"I'm not hiding you Charlotte, I know you feel like you are but I promise your not" I stood there in silence and stared at the floor. After a while I left the gym and went back to camp.
That night I stood on the balcony tearing up when I heard someone call my name "Charlotte?" I turned around and saw coach Ukai, I immediately bow
"I'm so sorry for what I did"
"It's okay, I know how you feel" I looked at him
"You do?" He nodded and said
"When I was in high school the only time I got to be in the starting line up was when the official setter, who was younger than me got hurt... then I was angry that I never got the opportunity for 3 whole years"
"Oh... I didn't know you went through this"
"Not a lot of people do a part from the neighbourhood team" he put his hand on my shoulder and said "I'm not going to let that happen to you Charlotte, you will get to play" I nodded and thanked him, I walked back to my room after apologizing to Noya and everyone else and fell asleep.
