So she went and got ready. She finished bathing, lotioned up and got dressed in casual clothes. She packed the diaper bag and sat down to wait. Soon Jason drove up to the house and Liz picked up the baby and the bag and went to meet him. He looked good. Liz had never seen him in casual clothes before. Everytime she'd seen him he was in a suit. He smiled in greeting and took the baby from her and strapped her into the car seat. He than opened the passenger door for her. "Where's my step stool?" She asked him as she struggled to get in. He picked her up by the waist and sat her in the car. "I forgot to buy it." He said. "I'm starting to think that you are forgetting on purpose." She said as they drove off.

They reached the hospital and Liz suddenly became nervous. What if Lu's mom didn't like her? What she asked Jason to fire her? She'd gotten attached to little Lu, she'd hate it if she had to give her up. Jason must sensed her nervousness because he gave her a reassuring smile. "Don't worry? Stacy is a sweetheart. You'll love her." He said
They made it to her room. Liz saw a pale young woman, who looked tired and sad. She had the same blue eyes as Jason. Liz wondered where Lu had gotten her brown eyes from. Jason made the introductions. "Stacy, this is  Liz the nanny I hired. Liz, this is Stacy this little girls mommy." He said pointing to Lu who was in Liz's arms. "Hello" Liz said, shifting the baby so she could shake Stacy's hand. "Nice to meet you." Stacy said with a smile just as Jason's phone rang. "Excuse me ladies, I'll be right back." He said putting down the daiper bag and leaving. There was an awkward silence after he left. Liz cleared her throat "would you like to hold the baby?" She asked. "Yes, please" Stacy said eagerly. Liz moved closer to the bed and handed Lu over to her mom. "Oh my gosh! What are you feeding her? She's so much bigger than the last time I saw. Just look at those chubby cheeks!" Stacy exclaimed
"Just formula for now, I haven't started her on solids yet." Liz explained. "Well you are doing a great job, she such a happy baby. Thank you so much." She said squeezing Liz's hand. "She's a joy to look after, hardly gives me any trouble. Isn't that right Lu?" Liz asked, tickling her chin and making her giggle. "Lu? I like that nickname" Stacy said, smiling at her giggling baby. "It's just a shortened version of her name." Liz said. "I know" Stacy said "her father used to call her that when she was still in my belly" Liz was shocked since Jason couldn't even get the name right at times. Stacy saw the shocked expression on Liz's face. "Didn't Jason explain everything to you?" she asked. "He said it was complicated" Liz said. Stacy laughed "that's my brother for you." She said. "Your BROTHER?" Now Liz was really confused. Stacy shook her head. "Sit down." She said, patting a spot on the bed."let me tell you the short version.

Liz found out that Stacy was indeed Jason's little sister. She had gone to Cape Town to study, had met and fallen in love with a fellow student. She told her mom about the relationship but her mom didn't approve because he was black. She told Stacy to break up with him and instead Stacy fell pregnant. She hadn't spoken to her mom since she told her about the pregnancy. The baby daddy was on his way to tell his family about the baby when he was involved in a car accident and passed away. That's when she had come to stay with her brother. She had been 8 months pregnant and the shock of loosing her boyfriend sent her into early labor. That's when they found a hole in her heart. The strain of carrying the baby had put pressure on her already weakened heart. That's why she was still in the hospital. Liz was crying by this time. "I'm so sorry for your lose" she cried, hugging Stacy. "Thank you Stacy said. "At least I have this beautiful reminder of him, and she has his eyes." She said looking down at the baby.

Jason walked in right after they had finished wiping their eyes and changing the baby. "Sorry about that,"  he said " it was business" Stacy smiled "that's okay bro, Liz and I managed to entertain ourselves. Liz nodded in agreement. "Well, visiting hours are over we have to leave now." He said, kissing Stacy on the forhead. "Thanks for bringing my baby. Please bring her again soon." She said looking at Liz. 'We will" Liz said giving her a hug.

They were sitting in the car when Jason asked what they had talked about. "You" Liz said. "What about me?" Jason asked raising an eyebrow. "How you never told me that you were Lu's uncle and not her dad" she said. "Oh that" he said, starting the car. "Well?" Liz asked, when they'd been on the road for a while and he still hadn't said anything. "It's a long story" he said. Liz bust out laughing. Stacy told me that was your standard answer when you wanted to avoid topics."

They made it to his house and it was beautiful. He gave her a tour that ended at the nursery. Which was empty with plain white walls. "Where's the furnisher?" She asked. "I wasn't sure what to buy, I thought you could help me with that." He said. "Sure, I can do that. What about the walls? Are you gonna leave them white.? You could paint them different colors or even paint different cartoon characters on them." Liz said, as she walked to the window. Jason came to stand next to her. "What a beautiful view" she said looking out. "Yeah, beautiful" Jason agreed, but his voice sounded strange. Liz looked at him only to find him staring at her with a strange look on his face. "Jason?" He cleared his throat "yeah... .uhm, so what's your favorite cartoon character" he asked. "Winnie the pooh" Liz answered still wondering what was going on with him. "You mean the yellow bear with no pants?" He asked. Liz laughed "That's one way to describe him, yes I mean him and all his friends" Then she started singing "🎶Pooh bear, Winnie the pooh bear, it's you and it's me my silly old Winnie the pooh🎶
Jason laughed. "You really love that bear"
Liz laughed along with him. "Yes, I do"
