"What are you doing here, L/N-Dono?"

"Always straight to business, eh?"
I sighed.
"I found Taka wandering about so I'm returning your little pal back."

"But I thought that there are no pets allowed in here..."
Fulbright scratched his head, recalling the fact.

"Nah, this is just what they tell you."
I smiled.

"Am I missing something? Who are you? Are you connected to the case?"
Wright was confused.

"Miss L/N was prosecutor Blackquill's personal prison guard up until a few months ago."
The detective explained while the guard opened the door for just a second so Taka would be able to fly in.

"But I must ask, why did you leave? Blackquill was even more grumpy since you left, and he seems to know the reason but won't tell me."

Simon tensed up.
I looked at the floor.
"It's... a long story."
I mumbled.

"I really missed you, Simon.
I had to see you one last time before you... w-well... you know...
Um, I d-didn't want to interrupt anything. I-I'll leave n-now."
I quickly said, taking my leave.

"L/N-Dono, please stay a little more..."
Simon requested.
H-He really asked for that...?

"O-Of course."
I nodded.

"Um... Blackquill, I need to ask... I heard you were hunting a 'phantom'...?
The 'phantom of seven years past'?"
The lawyer asked.
Phantom... phantom...
Where did I hear that...?
!!!
Now I recall!

"Where did you hear such thing??"
Blackquill intimidated Wright, even through the glass.

"I-It wasn't me! I didn't say a single w--
...OOPS!"
So the detective told him...

"Um, so could you tell me about him?
You didn't kill Doctor Cykes, did you?"
Wright pressed.

"Guard-"

"Simon. P-Please..."
I stopped him.

"The culprit in the current case could be the one from seven years ago! If you'll cooperate, we'll solve them both!"
Wright continued.

"...
Hmpf.
I suppose I could talk...
The one who killed my mentor was, without a doubt, ME."
Blackquill stated.

"I stole Cykes-Dono's mother away from her. I destroyed her life!"

"You are NOT the only one who learned psychology, Mr. Blackquill!
You are OBVIOUSLY trying to convince everyone, AND YOURSELF, that you did it!
YOU. Are NOT. A MURDERER!"
I argued.

"...I said what I said. Guard, take me away! The guests are leaving."
Simon said after taking a deep breath.

"I CAN'T let you die like that, especially if there's this phantom!"

"Stay away from this, Y/N. I'm sorry that this is how our last interaction went.
Thank you for bringing Taka.
Goodbye... forever."
Blackquill eventually said as he was escorted out.

This... can't end like this...

"Oh no..."
The detective mumbled.

"Aura said something about tomorrow, you said stuff about 'last meeting' and dying, w--?"
Wright started asking.

"Don't you know?
...I suppose you don't.
Simon never mentions it.
Didn't you already piece it together?
His sentence will carry out tomorrow.
He is going to get executed for a crime I don't believe that he committed."
I sighed, starting to leave.
Fulbright and Wright followed suit.

I looked at the direction of the space centre. What's there...?
All those little dots...
People started running from there, passing by us.

"What's going on?"
I asked.

"RUN!!! ROBOTS ARE TAKING OVER THE WORLD!!!"
One of them screamed, still running.

"H-HUH?? MY DAUGHTER'S IN THERE!"
Wright panicked, about to run there.

"Miss L/N. Do you believe in prosecutor Blackquill's innocence?"
He turned his his head to me before he took off.

"More then anything."
I admitted, nodding

"...I'll find the real culprit before the execution. I promise."
Wright nodded back at me before running to the space centre.
"Come with me, detective Fulbright!
I still have a few more questions for you!"

...and the two rushed there.

I smiled a little.

Even though Simon doesn't believe it...

There's still hope.
