I slightly rubbed my arms.
"Thank you, chief prosecutor. I've been waiting for thus freedom for so long.
It feels as if the air just got more fresh, and the light- brighter.
I'm going to do everything I can to get the phantom convicted for his crimes!"
I raised my head up high.

I can't believe that detective Fulbright could actually be the phantom...

I looked at the chains on the floor.
Athena was so happy.
Too bad Y/N isn't here to see this...

Wright-Dono was shaking someone's hand.
!!!
It's...!

"ThankyouthankyouTHANKYOU, Mr. Wright! I knew you could do this!"

"Just doing my job. But it's still not over.
I still need to save Athena.
Also, I have a suspect as the phantom."
He informed her.

"Well, I believe in you too, Athena!"

"Thank you! You were Simon's guard, weren't you?"

"Mm-hm!"

L/N-Dono's smile seemed to shine so bright, lightning the room and my heart.

She looked at me, the happiness draining from her face. She picked up the chains that were on the floor.

"I, uh, brought a small treat for everyone. It's still not time for celebration, but being hungry in court is not good."
Y/N had a small plate with her.

"I could use some of those. I haven't eaten this whole day!"
Wright-Dono admitted as everyone reached for one. Just lil ol' generous Y/N.

I didn't take one. I stayed away. I was...
Honestly, I was quite ashamed.
I've disappointed Y/N one too many times.

I've distented us so much from each other, that she doesn't even know how to approach me. Neither did I.

But I wasn't the only ashamed person in the room. Justice-dono was very disappointed in himself for doubting Cykes-Dono.
After a quick apology, he agreed to stand by Wright-dono's side.

"Ten more minutes!"
The bailiff announced.

I... have to speak with her.
"Y/N-"

"Yes, yes, yes. I'll be leaving soon.
I'll get out of your hair and you won't have to worry about me again. At least you are not going to doe tomorrow."
She mumbled, looking away.

I REALLY messed up...

"L/N-Dono, I, uh, won't mind if you stay to watch from the gallery."
She stops in her tracks.

She turns around, stepping closer.
She stares at me blankly.
Should I... say something...?

"Gah!"
I rubbed my burning cheek. Y/N slapped me really hard, tears in her eyes.

"Don't you EVER scare me like that again!"

I gently hugged her.

"I-I was so w-worried! I was scared I was going to l-lose you!"
She cried into my shoulder.

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done all these stupid choices for you.
I just couldn't bare the thought of you crying if I got the guilty verdict.
I admitted.

"I heard you put up quite the fight to get this verdict. But you can't hide the truth.
...
When I first saw you, you were very intimidating, but... something in me told me that you never belonged in prison.
That you were just putting on a scary facade so you won't be hurt ever again."
Y/N looked up into my eyes.

"I did some digging about you.
You didn't belong in the prison, too.
You have an impressive degree in psychology."
I pulled away from our hug.

"This is why you immediately saw how
I worked so hard to convince everyone
of my guilt."

"Yap. That's right..."
She looked down at the floor.

"...I guess I'll see you in court.
Good luck, everyone! Take this phantom down once and for all!"
Y/N returned to her usual, happy self.

We all waved at her, and Cykes-Dono approached me.
"She is one of a kind girl."

"You could say that again."
I said quietly.

"Aw, come on, Simon!
You are PERFECT for each other!
And the voices in your hearts say-"

"S-Silence, Cykes-Dono. Don't forget I can still get you convicted."
I pushed her away.

"Whatever, Simon.
Just think about this."
Cykes-Dono smiled teasingly before letting the bailiff escort her into the courtroom.

I won't disappoint her.
I won't disappoint Y/N, either.

...
Did she just say 'the voices of your HEARTS'? As for, more than one?

Does L/N-Dono really think of me...
THAT way?

I can't help but smirk a little, feeling warmth inside.

I suppose I feel the same way, too...
