EMANUAL'S P.O.V.

My mate's small body was spread across mine, and it was driving my wolf crazy. Her scent was surrounding me. Everywhere we touched, a warmth flowed through me, straight to my heart. I was in complete bliss.

"Please, let me go." My little mate's beautiful voice interrupted the silence. She gulped and looked down at me with big eyes. Was she scared of me? I chose to ignore her plead, mostly because my heart ached as she spoke those words. I'd never let her go.

"What's your name, gorgeous?" I made sure to smile as I asked her, hoping to make her blush.

She rested her elbows on my chest, lifting up her upper body. I sucked in a breath when she looked me straight in the eyes. Her scent only seemed to be getting stronger. It was truly addicting.

"Why does it matter?" Her voice was sharp this time. In my trance, I hadn't noticed her frown and clenched fists. She squirmed in my arms and pushed my hands away. Before I could stop her, my mate stumbled up on her feet. She backed away from me with her hands in front of her chest. Her fearful eyes was locked to me, watching my every move. I quickly jumped up and walked towards her, grabbing her arm. She tensed and did her best to look angry. The true emotion in her eyes was what scared me. Total fear.

"Just let me fucking go!" Her voice cracked as she sneered at me. My heart made a jump and I had to hold back a whimper. Sadness quickly changed to anger and I grabbed her arm harder, pulling her back. My gaze on her softened when she whimpered and complained. Then it hit me.

"Wait, you're human?" I looked shocked at her, my arm softening its grip on her. She quickly pulled her arm back and rubbed her wrist. I don't know how I didn't notice this about her. That's why she resisted me. She didn't know we were made for each other. My gaze wandered to her wrist and bruises slowly started to appear. Bruises from my fingers.

'Now you've hurt our mate, asshole!' My wolf roared at me. I could feel the guilt settle in my stomach. How could I be so stupid?

"Yes, of course I'm human, idiot." She hissed at me again. I ignored her insult and sighed.

Running footsteps were heard, coming from the diner. My first instinct was to protect my mate from the possible threat, by standing in a fighting stance in front of her. A growl rolled through my lungs and my eyes searched for a possible enemy. My arms curled around her body behind me, making sure she didn't run away.

The 'possible threat' turned out to be my two best friends. They trotted into the clearing and eyed my mate curiously.

"Who's she?" Noah, my Beta asked. Even though, he just looked at her, I felt the need to protect her from his glance. I had to stop myself from glaring at him.

"My mate," I turned around, watching her stand with arms crossed in front of her chest.

"Whom I still haven't gotten the name off." I added, raising an eyebrow at her. She shifted and looked down at her feet. I sighed once again.

'Go back to the pack house. I'll be back in an hour or so.' I mind linked them both. They nodded at me and disappeared back in the woods.

"C'mon, we are going." I placed my hand on the small of her back and started leading her in the direction to the pack house. It would take around 45 minutes to walk all the way, since she is human.

KRISTEN'S P.O.V.

"What the hell?! No, I'm not going with you!" I shouted, pushing his arm off me. For some reason, I immediately missed the feeling of his strong arm wrapped around me. I shook the weird feeling away and clenched my fists. I was not going to back down.

"This is not up for discussion! You're coming with me." His booming voice sent chills down my spine. He held my gaze with his own, slowly walking towards me. His height was towering my 5'9 frame. He must had been at least 6'2 feet tall. I could feel my heart pounding in my chest. My hands had gotten cold and clammy.

"You just don't get it, do you? You belong with me. You are mine, whether you like it or not." The beautiful man continued, his voice now soft and deep. His hand reached for my face and bit my lip as he caressed my cheek. His fingers felt perfect against my soft skin. I almost leaned in, craving more of his touch.

His hand ran down my neck and stopped at my waist, where he wrapped it around me. My body was frozen. I was not sure if it was because I liked it, but I didn't dare to move an inch. He leaned his head closer, lips reaching my ear.

"Now, what's your name?" Having him this close soothed me. My thoughts weren't clear, I could only focus on him. I shivered when his soft breath hit my neck. The man's scent was surrounding me. He smelled of chamomile tea on a lazy day and fresh rain. I inhaled, enjoying his fragrance.

"Kristen." I sighed, finally answering his question. Being this close to him certainly wasn't good for me. I forgot everything about fighting back. It was just the handsome man and I.
