CHAPTER: 19
BEAUTIFUL YET BROKEN
I TRIED TO EYE THOSE HAZEL orbs who hid away from me. Am I that bad to look at? Even a sliver of gaze from him can't be offered to me.
I sigh, taking a sip of my strawberry juice and watching the rain dripping down the earth and wetting the dry areas. Water slides on the glass of the cafe as only a few customers are left leaving me to enjoy my break.
Tears brim in my eyes but I stop them from flowing. Instead, I take a rough breath and try to intake the pain inside me. The bell chimes making an alert of a new customer and as I sit my back at the entrance, I try to turn back to look at the guest but stop when I hear voices.
"Dude, I never knew this shit was hitting the fan."
"Me too. I thought she was a sweet, innocent girl but damn, she is a murderer."
Listening to them, I find out that they are from the same school I am studying.
"Yeah. Man, must I say I will take the opportunity to get myself killed if she is the one doing it?"
They laugh but then keep silent for a while. "I never knew she killed her boyfriend."
The glass I was holding tightened as I anticipated who was the person doing it.
"Never knew a girl like Sapphira would be a murderer."
My eyes widen as I witness the conversation. I wanted to turn to look at them and ask them who said that but couldn't.
My mind is in a paralytic state where I don't understand my brain functioning or my heart beating.
