Victors pov

"Do forgive me" i spoke as i still held onto the vase, looking up at her "you play beautifully" she spoke in a soft voice. She was pretty, i had to admit, but the way she looks doesn't tell me about her character.

"I...i...i do apologize, Miss Everglot. How rude of me to...well" i stuttered as i stood up straight and noticed the stool laying on its side "excuse me" i said as i bent down to put it upright as it was before. "Mother won't let me near the piano, she says that music is improper for a young lady" she said as i dusted the stool off with my hand

I looked around her for a second and saw that she was alone "if i may ask, Miss Everglot, where is your chaperone?" She moved a few steps closer to me "perhaps you could call me Victoria?" She dismissed my question and i thought about the wedding

"Victoria...tomorrow we are to be..." i began and she finished "we are to be wed, yes, that is correct, Victor"

She sat down at the piano "ever since i was a child, I've dreamt about my wedding. To find the one i would spend the rest of my life with...to love, silly, isn't it?" Without thinking i said "yes, silly...no! No, not at all, no"

I sat down at the piano and accessed knocked the vase over, spilling some water. We both stood up and she picked up the flower then suddenly spoke "can i tell you a secret?" I nodded

"I did once find someone, i liked him very much, he was sweet to me, but he was a poor man so mother said i couldn't see him again and i never did. Have you ever found anyone you liked?" Why would she tell me this? Does she not want us to be married? Does she think im not attractive? Is she still in love with this unknown man?

"No, i haven't" was all i could say because of her mother walking into the room "what is this? You two are not to be alone together, here it is one minute before five and you're not at the rehearsal. Pastor Galswells is waiting. Come at once"

She turned on her heel and walked back into the room which she came from. We looked at each other and followed behind her into the room to start the rehearsal.
