THE NIGHT ONLY GETS ABYSMAL FROM THERE. The clock hits two-thirty in the morning when John B is taken to the hospital and the rest of the Pogues all have to part ways and go to their respective homes. Oakley's eyes are tired and completely emotionless as she walks to her house, having been dropped off a couple of houses away as to not draw attention to the loud grumbling of the Twinkie. Her dress is dirty, her mascara runs slightly under her eyes and her body is physically exhausted as she makes her dreadful way up to her house.

She tries to summon silence as she slowly and warily introduces the key into the doorknob. To her good luck, the door clicks open without announcing her late arrival, and she manages to step inside and turn to shut it just as quietly without getting stopped by someone.

Bali greets his disappeared best friend excitedly, whining and licking her in ecstasy as he tries to jump on top of her, the girl pushing his large chest back because she knows with her drained body and the dog's gigantic size, she'll fall over and most likely wake up the whole household.

"Sh, sh. Alright, boy, alright," she whispers to the big guy and places a kiss on his head before patting his stomach.

She drops the keys on the entryway table and walks down the foyer as Bali eagerly trudges after her, his paws clicking softly against the marbled tiles. The girl eases a sigh as she lazily steps one foot on the first stair, stopping right after. She closes her eyes and drops her head, placing a hand on her forehead and rubbing her eyes.

She goes to climb the second stair before a hand grips her upper arm and makes her gasp as she swivels around.

"Calm down— Calm down," Arthur speaks, though his words do little to ease her panic.

Her body relaxes ever so slightly, but her eyes remain full of fear and her breathing becomes somewhat agitated at being caught by the first person she precisely didn't want to get caught by.

   "Dad-"

   "Come here,"

Suddenly, he starts harshly dragging her through the living room and out to the terrace, sliding the glass doors shut as he captures the protective canine behind the panes. When he's finally out, with the breeze ruffling their hair and thunder adding to the tension, he drops her hand and glares at her.

"Do you have any idea of what you've done?!" He screams at her, his face so full of rage Oakley fears he might explode.

She blinks.

"Do you even think for once in your life, Oakley?!"

   "Dad I-"

"No, shut up! Shut up!" His voice gets so loud it makes the girl flinch, a foreign feeling of detachment between the two making her face fall, "I am tired. I'm tired of having you ruin our family's reputation just because you want to hang out with these— these grotty boys that all they do is turn you into an uneducated ruffian,"
