Y/n's POV:

I quickly brushed my teeth, brushed hair and pulled it up in a high ponytail, quickly putting on some black jeans and tucked in white-wispy blouse with long sleeves, black boots and a grey-anchor coat, I grasp one of my bobby-pins and attempt to pinch it at the keyhole, in faith that I could unlock it myself,

Rattling the tip of the pin through the keyhole, many attempts were languishing-after some broken pins and curses under my breath, I managed to unlock the door,

'Finally...' I mumble under my breath, as I then close the door behind me and jog towards the lift and to the reception,

'Hey-have you seen a dirty-blonde guy, six foot-'

'Two? Rafe Cameron? The one from-'

'Yes-yes him.' I interrupt the-already-blushing receptionist,

'Oh yeah, I saw him, why?'

'What way did he go?'

'He left the building, walked towards the garage and then I saw his car crossing our entrance ang doing South-west...'

'Shit-can I use the phone please?' I ask as she nods,

I fetch out the letter from Lewis from the first mission, inspecting it, I was relieved after noticing, in little-cryptic letters, his number was there, my hands trembling, I punched the number in and waited whilst beeps continues, later on, he finally answered,

'Y/n-you already finished?'

'Finished?'

'Yes-the mission that was assigned?'

'Oh yeah, well not quite, me and Rafe got in a little-teeny...completely misunderstood conversation, we made a plan however it was entirely corrupted once we realised that it was already late, so we decided to take different routes, but I unfortunately forgot to check the address, could you remind me please? Rafe is not picking up, since he's...busy.'

'Oh yeah, of course, where's your phone, I'll drop the link.'

'I broke it...'

'You what-alright, so, from your current location, that being the landscape, take a route down the street at your left, after three miles, turn-'

'Could you please give me a direct address? I'll take a taxi.' I respond,

'Right, Function Agency, however it's second building, they were not the most creative ones, so it's just called 'Function-Agency-Dos'.'

'Jesus Christ...' I mumble, keeping in my laughter, Y/n, professional-forgot?

'Right-thank you, I'll update...'

I then hang up and thanking the concierge, I pace out of the building, at the side of the pavement, I indicate my thumb in the air, anticipating impatiently for someone to stop,

Hitch-hiking is not as easy as I thought it would be, considering it's Monday and people strive to get to their workplaces without a delay-not all of them...some.

After a while, a yellow cab stops at the side of the road, I pace towards it and hop in,

'Thank you so much-you know the second Agency-Function building? Could you please get me there?'

The driver glares at me through the rear view, confused,

'I know it's none of my concern, but why would you need to get there?'

'I have my friend awaiting me there, we will then go for a nice dinner and I am really running out of time-'

'Yes, sure.' The driver mutters and starts driving, I hunker in my seat,

The worst part is that we are not finished with them, if he is in the second building that is also owned by the main entrepreneur, it means that it's not over and it gnaws at me even more, however something that makes me dwell even more is, why was Rafe so determined to prevent me from going?

---

After some time, the taxi driver pulls up to a parking lot, I search in my pockets and fetch out ten dollars, giving it to him,

'Is this enough?' I ask,

'Yes, it's enough-where's your friend?'

I step out of the car and lean back in,

'They're inside, her name is Lindsay.'

I then close the door and run towards the loud yelling and some gunshots that startled me,

There was an entrance door, I saw blood inside- a lot of it, the vermilion liquid stained the white walls, people running downstairs and through another threshold, I see a gun lying on the floor, I open the door and quickly grasp it,

I then pace up the stairs and towards where the yelling was loudest, I heard him-

I heard Rafe yelling to someone else to get in the corner,

I scooted past the guards and into the corridor, couches scattered, papers and envelopes everywhere, I manoeuvred myself behind the pole as then, my eyes met with his,

He has blood all over his clothes, blouse-scrunched up, his hair unruly as he holds the gun next to his face, his eyes widen, his grasp on the gun is momentarily tighter, his jaw is clenched and eyes so much darker now, he paces towards me, prowls even, he is furious, shit,

He grasps me by the wrist and leads me towards the corner, slamming me against the wall, he glares right into my eyes, breathing heavily, perspiration on his forehead,

'What the actual fuck are you doing here Y/n?' He asks, holding my chin as his gun was still next to his head, prepared to shoot if required,

'You left me so I decided to-'

'Be petty? If I left you Y/n, it was for a fucking reason, why can't you just listen to me?'
