As I stare in horror at my bare wrist, I stumble backwards on my feet in disbelief. The harder I stare the faster my heart rate becomes.
I have never heard about arrows disappearing before. Yeah occasionally they can change who they point to, but I've never seen one vanish off of someone's wrist.
Well, until now.
Seokjoong's mouth opens but he can't finds the words to speak. Stepping forwards to get a better look his eyes continue to widen and he starts to breathe heavily.
"What the hell?" I whisper without mustering up the courage to move my gaze from my wrist.
Mr Kim also becomes speechless. He still hasn't removed his grip on my wrist but after a few seconds he does. "First you lied about being with my son. And now you've lied again about your age?" He yells. "You don't have your arrow - you are not eighteen!"
"How dare you come here being a seventeen year old, pretending to be eighteen!" Mrs Kim scolds and steps closer. "You just keep getting worse and worse don't you?"
I shake my head. "What? No, I am eighteen! I never lied about that! Seokjin and I really do have the same birthda-"
My words are cut off when a hand firmly connects with my face. My mouth gapes open as I slowly turn to look at Mr Kim, my cheek beginning to sting a little.
"Dad stop!" Seokjoong yells in shock, pulling me backwards and behind him.
"Don't even think about speaking my son's name." Mr Kim ignores Seokjoong and carrys on staring at me.
"Tara never lied about that, Mr Kim. She and Jin are born on the same days. She got her arrow the same time Jin did." Chunhei speaks up from behind me as she knows for a fact that we do have the same birthdays.
"Then where is it Chunhei?" Her father questions. "Her wrist is bare! She has lied like she has been this whole week!"
Ahreum scoffs and glares at her father. "Why would she lie about her age? That's insane dad!"
"Because she is insane!" Now Jin's father begins to yell again. "She doesn't deserve to be in this family. I never want to see her again."
Seokjoong stares at his father and groans. "Dad just stop and think for a moment! You saw her arrow when you met her last week pretty clearly!"
"It clearly was a fake, Seokjoong." Mrs Kim tells her son. "She fooled us all. And the nerve she has to do so." She scowls towards me.
All of the yelling down my earhole harsh words thrown around the room start to make my throat close up. I start to breathe more heavily whilst clutching at my wrist, hiding the bareness of it.
Suddenly a hand grabs onto my other wrist, tugging me towards the door and out the room. My eyes look up to meet the back of Chunhei's head. We end up in the main reception of the hotel and she let's go.
"I don't understand." I breathe. "Why is my arrow gone? I've never heard of arrows disappearing before so why has mine?"
Frustratedly grabbing her hair, Chunhei turns around. "I don't know."
"Then why drag me all the way out here?" I raise my voice questioningly.
"Well would you rather stay in there?" She yells back, pointing her hand towards the room havoc was errupting in moments ago. "Where you'll get hit again? Where you'll get yelled at again? What I believe I'm waiting for is a thank you!"
"Oh yes, thank you so much for guiding me out of a room. I couldn't possibly do that myself!" I fire back.
Chunhei notices how worked up I'm getting and sighs, raising her hands to try and calm me down. "Look, there had to be a logical explanation of why your arrows gone so just shut up and stay calm."
