~Chapter 3~

Hadley sighed as she settled into her chair in the meeting of the United Nations

She was dressed nicely, her short hair pulled back into a neat ponytail. She wore a nice black dress along with a necklace with a golden star charm on it, a gift from Tony

Tony had an important Stark Industries meeting so he was absent. She was there on his behalf

She watched quietly while Nat talked to the Wakandan prince before her attention was grabbed by a man next to her

"You're Tony Stark's little girlfriend aren't you?" He asked, earning a slightly offended look as she turned to him

"Excuse me?"

"You can't be older than 35. Isn't Stark in his 40s?" The man asked

"What's your point?" She asked, crossing his arms

"Well I'm just wondering that's all." The man said, "tell me. How much does that Stark pay you to give him love at night hm?"

Hadley's jaw dropped at that statement. She couldn't believe those words came out his mouth

"Are- Are you kidding me? Did you seriously just ask me that question?" She asked

"It's alright. You can tell me. Hell maybe I can give you more for one night" he stated

Hadley gasped softly and slapped him

"For your information I couldn't care less about his money" she said, "And I would thank you to never speak like that to me again"

"Damn. No need to get so defensive. Just wanted to know what it would take" he spat at her, glaring as he rubbed his cheek, "You honestly can't tell me you're not in it for the money"

"I'm not" Hadley spat

"And even if she was, you couldn't dream of having as much as Tony Stark. He got his money with intelligence, something you seem to be lacking" Natasha said as she walked over. She wrapped her arm in Hadley's "come on. I grabbed us two seats up front"

She shot an icy glare at the man before leading Hadley off

"Don't let him get to you. Tony knows you love him and that's all that matters" Nat said, "not the opinion of some asshole who only thinks with his lower head"

Hadley smiled lightly and nodded "thanks Nat"

She looked down quietly. She knew what Nat said was true but she couldn't help but let her mind wander. Did Tony think she liked him for his money? She hoped not... Because she didn't... She didn't like the idea of people spending money on her. Regardless of whether they're a billionaire

She sighed quietly as she sat next to Nat

The Wakandan king stood at the podium in front of them

"When stolen Wakandan vibranium was used to make a terrible weapon... we in Wakanda were forced to question our legacy." The king said, "Those men and women killed in Nigeria... were part of a goodwill mission from a country too long in the shadows. We will not, however, let misfortune drive us back. We will fight to improve the world we wish to join... I am grateful to the Avengers for supporting this initiative. Wakanda is proud to extend its hand in peace-"

Nat grabbed Hadley's hand suddenly as the Wakandan prince panicked and yelled

"EVERYBODY GET DOWN!"

But it was too late as the blast of an explosion shot through the room

~

Ringing.

That was all Hadley could hear as she came to

Her ears wouldn't stop ringing.

She whimpered quietly as she woke, her eyes opening slowly, squinting at the dust in the room

She groaned as she slowly sat up, rubbing her head

She pushed some rubble off her leg, rubbing it quietly, wincing. Definitely broken...

Dammit.
