Family Dinner

~Chapter 13~

Hadley adjusted her skirt nervously in the mirror

"I don't know why you're so nervous. It's your mother. I should be the one who's nervous" Tony said, looking over at her

Tonight they were having dinner with Hadley's mother, to tell her they were engaged

"I know I just... I really hope she likes you" she said, adjusting her collar

She wore a white button down long sleeve shirt along with a black skirt that flowed out to her knees

Her short hair was done up in a nice ponytail, curled to add a little bounce

(Her hair is about at her shoulders, maybe a little below)

"I hope she does too" Tony replied, "but I think tonight will go well"

"I hope so... Should we get going? We need to pick up Peter." Hadley said

Oh yeah, Peter was going to. They both felt it was a good idea to include him on their news.

They hadn't told anyone yet, Happy was the only one who knew. It had been about a week and a half and they were finally ready to tell people. What can they say? Old secret habits die hard

Tony adjusted his tie in the mirror then grabbed his coat. He smiled and wrapped it around Hadley before leading her downstairs to the car

Hadley quickly ran and grabbed the door for Tony, earning a chuckle before he got in the car

Hadley shut the door then got in too

"To the kid" she instructed

"Yes ma'am" Tony saluted

Hadley chuckled as he began driving. She looked out the window with a quietly smile

After a bit of driving, they finally pulled up outside Peter's apartment.

"I'll grab him" Hadley said, pecking Tony's cheek before getting out and walked up the stairs

She smiled as she walked through the halls before knocking on Peter's door

It quickly opened "Hey Miss Velvet!" Peter said with a smile, "I'm almost ready to go, I'm just having trouble with my tie"

"May here?" Hadley asked

"Yeah but I don't know how to tie it either. It seemed easier on homecoming.." May said with a smile

"Well luckily, I tie Tony's all the time" Hadley replied, smiling as she took Peter's tie.

She was quick to tie it neatly before smiling at the young boy

"Thanks Miss. Velvet" Peter said with a smile

"No problem Kiddo" Hadley replied, "We'll have him back around 10 or 11. Depending on what happens"

"No problem." May said, "you're actually doing me a favor, I have a date"

Peter made a face

"Wait wha-"

"Come on, Tony's waiting" Hadley said with a laugh

"O-Okay. But uh... We're talking about this later" Peter said to May before following Hadley out the door

Hadley smiled "You know your aunt is very pretty. She's bound to draw attention"

"I don't want to think about that" Peter said with a frown

Hadley laughed lightly, leading Peter to the car
