~Chapter 4~

Tony stared silently at the door, he could hear his heart beating in his ears as he silently waited

Hearing about the bombing had scared the ever-living shit out of him but Hadley had messaged him not long after that she was okay

Now he waited for her to come through that door, wanting to believe that she was okay.

It wasn't long before the door opened and Nat led her through the room, holding the door for her as she stumbled in on crutches

Tony hopped up quickly and went to her hurriedly

He embraced her tightly

"Are you okay? Dammit I wish I hadn't sent you to that conference.." he mumbled

"I'm okay Tony... I'm okay... I know... I need to stop getting myself blown up" she joked, hugging him back with one arm

Tony let out a small breathy chuckle as he pulled away, pushing her messy hair out of her face as he set his forehead on hers, kissing her nose quietly

"The world needs to stop trying to take you from me.." he mumbled

"They could never take me from you.." she mumbled back, "we're all kinds of stubborn... We'd just go back to each other.."

Tony chuckled "all kinds of stubborn.." he repeated fondly, "I love you..."

"I love you more.."

Tony smiled and kissed her

"Oh get a room" Nat said, rolling her eyes

Tony pulled away and looked at her

"How are you Romanoff?" He asked

"Bruised but fine" Nat replied

Tony nodded "good. Did Cap-"

"No" Nat said, knowing what he was going to ask

Tony sighed softly and nodded

Hadley hobbled over to the couch and plopped herself down with a small sigh

"Are you alright?" Tony asked, watching her

"Yep. I'm a survivor don't worry Tony" she replied

Tony nodded with a small smile and sat next to her

Then his phone rang. He sighed deeply and stood. He pecked the top of her head before walking out of the room

Nat sat next to Hadley quietly for a moment before speaking "I'm worried about Steve" she said, "I think he's going to make this whole situation worse.."

Hadley went to reply before Tony walked back in the room

"We have to go" he said, looking angry and frustrated

Hadley looked at her "I think you're right.."

Hadley sat in an office room, watching Tony talk on the phone as Steve and Sam were led in by Natasha

"No." Tony said into the phone, glaring at Steve as they walked in, "Romania was not Accords-sanctioned. Colonel Rhodes is supervising cleanup.

"Try not to break anything while we fix this." Nat said to Steve
