~Chapter 19~

Strange's cloak flew down to them and landed next to Peter, who stuck his hand toward it

"Hi, we haven't met yet" he said, the cloak ignored him and flew off, "Cool.."

Hadley went to Tony "You okay?"

"Yeah. You?" He asked, hugging her quietly

"We need to turn this ship around" Strange said as his cloak hooked to him

"Yeah, now he wants to run" Tony rolled his eyes, "Great plan"

"No, I want to protect the Stone" Strange defended

"And I want you to thank me" Tony said, "go ahead, I'm listening"

Tony crossed his arms as he and Hadley stared at Strange expectantly

"For what?" Strange asked "Nearly blasting me into space?"

Tony scoffed "Who just saved your magical ass?" He asked, "Me."

Strange rolled his eyes, "I seriously don't know how you fit your head into that helmet."

Tony gave Hadley a look then turned back to Strange "Admit it. You should have ducked out when I told you to. I tried to bench you. You refused." He said

"Unlike everyone else in your life," Strange spat, "I don't work for you."

"I'm really going to need you to stop talking to him like that" Hadley spat

"You should've listened to me" Tony said, "And due to that fact, we're now in a flying doughnut billions of miles away from Earth with no backup."

Peter raised his hand "I'm backup."

Tony shook his head "No." He said, "You're a stowaway. The adults are talking."

"I'm confused as to the relationship here" Strange said, looking at Peter, "what is he, your ward?"

"It's complicated" Tony and Hadley said together

"No... I'm Peter by the way" Peter said, gesturing to himself

"Doctor Strange"

"Oh... We're using our made up names.." Peter mumbled, "I-I'm Spiderman.."

"It's not his.." Hadley shook her head

"This ship is self-correcting its course." Tony explained, "Thing's on autopilot."

Strange looked at him quietly, "Okay, Can we control it? Fly us home?" He asked, he frowned when Tony turned to Hadley, "Stark?"

Hadley and Tony gave each other quiet looks, looking between the window and each other.

Tony sighed "Yeah." He mumbled

Strange looked at them, annoyed, "Can you get us home?" He asked again

Tony rolled his eyes "Yeah I heard you. I'm thinking...I'm not so sure we should." He said

Hadley looked at him and nodded quietly

Strange glared, "Under no circumstance can we bring the Time Stone to Thanos." He spat, "I don't think you quite understand what's at stake here."

Tony shook his head, "No." He snapped, "It's you who doesn't understand. Thanos has been inside my head for six years!"

Hadley took his hand quietly and he squeezed it

"Since he sent an army to New York and now he's back! And I don't know what to do." Tony said, "So I'm not so sure if it's a better plan to fight him on our turf or his but you saw what they did, what he can do. At least on his turf, he's not expecting it. So I say we take the fight to him. Doctor. Do you concur?"

Dr. Strange stared at him quietly, glancing between the couple

"Alright, Stark." He said finally, "We go to him. But you have to understand....if it comes to saving you, or the girl, or the kid or the Time Stone... I will not hesitate to let any of you die. I can't, because the fate of the universe depends on it."

Tony rolled his eyes, turning to Hadley and Peter, "Good. Nice. Moral compass. We're straight." He said, he turned to Peter. He awkwardly put his outstretched arm briefly on both Peter's shoulders, mockingly knighting him, "Alright, kid. You're an Avenger now."

Peter looked at him in surprise and smiled as he walked away

"Don't blow it" Hadley added before following Tony

She set a hand on his shoulder

"You okay..? You need anything? Need a sit down..?" Hadley asked quietly

"No.. yeah... I'm good.." Tony said with a nod, "I'm good.."

"You have to rest at some point Tony.." Hadley said with a soft sigh, crossing her arms

"Einstein got 3 hours of sleep a year... I'll rest when Thanos is gone.." Tony replied

Hadley sighed and nodded, leaning on him gently.

She kissed his cheek and he turned to her, nuzzling his nose on her cheek

"Guess we'll have to push our reservations tonight hm..?"

"I'm sure they'll let us reschedule.." she replied

Tony smiled and nodded "I'm glad you're here..."

"There's no one else I'd rather be hurtling into space with.." she replied

Tony smiled and kissed her sweetly

She smiled and looked toward the window where a planet quickly approached

"Hm.." Tony hummed, looking at the steering

Peter hurried over

"Hey, what's going on?" He asked, looking at Tony then the steering gauges

"I think we're here. I don't think this rig has a self-park function." Tony explained, leading Peter to the steering gauges, "Get your hand into this steering gimbal. Close those around it. You understand?"

"Yep, got it" Peter said, doing as he asked

"Uh... Are you sure about this..?" Hadley asked

"Nope" Tony replied, "This was meant for one big guy so we gotta move at the same time"

"Okay" Peter said, "okay ready"

"We might want to turn" Tony said

"Turn turn turn" Peter mumbled as they both attempted to steer the ship as it flew closer to the planet

But they turned too tightly and the ship crashed into the side of the planet
