We walked into the Hype house with our arms linked and headed straight for the drinks.

"For your bachelorette party I'm planning on us going to a club!" Avani laid her hands on mine

"Plan whatever your heart desires Avi" I kissed her on the cheek

We went to where everyone was at and were dancing. After a while I felt a hand on my shoulder I looked back and saw Tayler

"Do you need something?" I gave him a dirty look

"Yes can we maybe talk?"

"Where's your little puppy Sommer?" I looked around

"She's not here Kai" he grabbed my shoulder

"Awe y'all are actually apart for once that's cute" I pushed his hand off me

"Kai please" he grabbed my hand

"Oh what if Sommer saw you holding my hand? What if I send her a picture? Here get close to me and say cheese"

"Dammit Kai I broke it off with her" I didn't say anything back to him

"I want to give our marriage a real shot I've been thinking about it these last two weeks and none of this is fair to you Kailea I love you"

I stepped back from him "bullshit. You're a fake Tayler Holder. The last two weeks? Months have gone by and only these last two weeks you've thought about me. Fuck you"

"Kai let's just go talk somewhere privately and quiet down" did this dude for real just tell me to quiet down?? Nuh uh

"Over my dead body. This conversation ends here Tay." I spotted Vinnie and subtly waved him over

"Hey guys" he hugged me "what's going on? You guys having fun?"

"Sorry Tayler but I'm going to steal Kai from you we've got some catching up to do" before I could say anything he pulled me away.

"Ugh great look who's gonna be trending soon" I pointed to myself and showed the post.

"Don't worry about it let's just have fun Kai" he grabbed my hands

"I've got eyes on me that's not a safe move" I moved my hand and made space between us.

"Kai, don't get married I'll help you get out of the contract" I covered his mouth

"Vinnie shut the hell up your so loud" I lead him to the bathroom and locked the door "why are you saying this?"

"Because I know you're not happy and you don't want to marry him" I so badly just wanted him to admit that he had feelings for me but I'm so screwed up.

"Can I admit something vin?" He nodded at me "I hooked up with Josh, please don't say anything it was such a mistake"

He didn't say anything it went silent "good for you" I saw the sorrow in his eyes he turned away from me to compose himself. "I actually got to go catch up with Alex and Kouver" he left me alone in the bathroom.

I walked out sobbing and tried to catch up with him "Vin pleas stop" I finally caught up to him and grabbed his hand "please talk to me, you're my bestfriend and I love you. Don't shut me out I said I was sorry and it was a mistake"

"Kai I love you too." He let go of my hand "that's the problem." he walked away and I didn't see him for the rest of the night.

3 weeks later
...

I only had 8 more weeks until my wedding and I couldn't feel more terrified. Tayler kept trying to get ahold of me and talk to me I've been ignoring him though.

I walked out to the kitchen to get some coffee and totally forgot that we had just picked Loren up from the airport yesterday. It's so nice having her here

"Here babe I already made you a cup!" I grabbed and took a sip which made me melt into a smile

"You're the best" I hugged her and sat at the bar

She gave me a smile "where's your head at Kai?" She placed her hand on mine

"My hearts not with the man I'm marrying Lo but I can't get out of it.."

"Or is it because Vinnie is in your head?"

I shook my head "no we're not even talking"

"Maybe you caught feelings for him?"

Tears filled my eyes "no" she brought me into a hug "Loren should I just try with Tayler? He said he wanted this?"

"Kai I think do what you feel is right, whatever you decide I'm right here with you" she kissed my forehead "I'm gonna call him and tell him to come over, you don't mind like going out for a bit right?"

"Not at all I was planning on meeting up with some friends anyway"

...

I called Tayler over. He showed up at my door with Chinese takeout.

"Hi come in" I gave him a warm smile. He walked in placed the food down and got us plates. This feels like how we did our dates during quarantine

We got our plates and went out to the balcony "so I wanted to talk about what you said last night"

"Kai listen I-" I stopped him

"No Tay please let me talk.." I took a breath "I'm willing to work things out" a smile spread across his face from ear to ear "if you promise to never speak to Sommer again even if you see her. And if you promise to value me as your wife and a person. Respect my feelings and my opinions. Be my husband and not just because of a contract, also I don't want to have sex until after we get married"

He nodded his head "I promise and no contract included on that, I love you with no conditions. And done I've blocked her on everything, and okay I can wait for you"

We spent the rest of the evening catching up and laughing and eventually went to bed.
