"This is empty. You took empty tanks?" Kiara criticised.

The Pogues all sat in the HMS Pogue back on the marsh where they'd found the sunken boat later that afternoon. The plan was to go under and search the boat for the contraband that Scooter had most likely had on board. However, if they didn't actually have any scuba tanks with oxygen, none of them was going anywhere.

Examining another tank, Callie held up the meter, "This one is still a quarter full."

"That'll only be enough for one of us," Kie stated.

"Love it when a plan comes together," Pope said sarcastically from the driver's seat.

"Does anybody know how to dive?"

The boat fell silent, all of them staring around at each other. When nobody answered, Kie asked again.

JJ tapped his fingers on the boat, "It's kind've a kook sport."

"I. . . read about it," Pope offered.

Kie nodded, a frustrated frown on her face. "Great, Pope read about it, so someone's gonna die."

"There's five of us, surely we could figure it out?" Callie suggested, not wanting the day to be a bust.

The blonde boy beside her nodded, "Look, y-you put the thing in your mouth and breath. How hard could it be?"

"Well, if you come up too fast, nitrogen gets into your blood, and you get the bends," Pope countered.

"Bends like, bend over and. . ." JJ said, before bending over in front of Pope rather suggestively.

"The bends kill you," his friend replied, not playing along.

"Right."

John B then raised his hand, "I can- I can dive."

"You can dive. I'm cool with that," JJ agreed.

"You can dive?" Callie scoffed, looking at the boy with an expression that told him she didn't believe it. "Since when?"

"I'll do it, it's fine," he responded, not actually answering the question.

John B had a penchant for doing things like that when he wanted to be able to help. It was like he lost his common sense.

"Let me do some calculations real quick," Pope sighed.

"You serious?" Kie asked John B, who just shrugged. The girl rolled her eyes before she got up and walked to the other side of the boat.

Callie grabbed a notebook and pencil from beside the wheel of the boat and handed them to Pope who began to do his calculations.
"That boat's about thirty feet down. So it'll take twenty-five minutes at that depth. Which means you need to make your safety stop at about. . . ten feet. All right? For two minutes."
