"Look, it was right here, and this is where that maniac claimed his next victim. Right there"

Kiara was currently trying to convince Shoupe of what they had seen Ward do. So far, they weren't having any luck, which wasn't really a surprise to any of them. They hadn't believed them from the jump, why stop now?

It didn't help that all of the evidence was somehow gone. There was no body, no blood and no weapon. How would they be able to prove their case?

Shoupe was writing down what they were saying but didn't sound convinced in any way. "Uh-huh. His next victim?"

"Yeah."

"Right. And how long ago did you say it happened?" Shoupe questioned.

Standing up from where he had been assessing the ground, JJ took a step back towards his friends. "45 minutes ago, Shoupe."

The Sheriff lowered his pen, "And so, Ward Cameron just popped one off and shot him."

"How many different ways do you want us to say it?" Callie asked with her arms crossed in front of her.

"Execution style?" he clarified.

"Yes."

"And then cleaned it all up in 45 minutes?"

Kiara nodded as Pope stated, "Obviously."

"We filmed the entire thing," Kiara was quick to add, hoping it would back them up.

This caught Shoupe's attention. "You filmed it?"

"Yes, but we can't show it to you because JJ was rushing me and I stepped on Callie's hand and then she kicked Pope, and then Pope dropped the camera, and because it's a piece of shit it broke."

"This is a telephoto," Pope defended, holding up the camera. "And we needed to get a long-distance image, and. . . and. . . and I fell, and it broke, so the video is basically unusable. But. . . but we were there, and we're with-"

"So the dog ate your homework?" Shoupe interrupted with a sigh.

Callie ran a hand roughly through her hair, "Can you just hear what we're saying? He killed someone!"

"Look, I don't know what you kids expect me to do with this," he told them as he put his notepad and pen in his pocket. "You drag me out here in the middle of the night for a whole lot of nothing."

"No, it's not nothing!" Kiara insisted.

"Except for some crazy stories about how Ward Cameron's out on a random killing spree."

Pope shook his head, trying to tell the man that it wasn't a 'random killing spree' as JJ shouted, "We're not making this up!"

"Gavin was his pilot," Pope explained. "Okay, he was paying him hush money because he was on the tarmac that day."
