Aged 10

I smiled at the house, luggage in hand catching every glimpse I could of the garden and woodland area. Charlie took my bags gesturing me to follow, so I complied, walking into his home.

I saw pictures of Charlie and a girl around my age.
"That's Bella, she's my daughter, she doesn't visit very often. She lives in Arizona with her mother, Renee." He stated looking at the sad fact his daughter no longer visited him anymore.

I nodded following him up the stairs. "This is your room, a friend of mine helped convert it." He slightly bragged proud that he had put this all together, the action made a smile form on my lips, something I hadn't done for years.

"I also uh...brought you some paints and stuff from the local art store, your father used to tell me you liked to paint." He mumbled scratching him head

The smile once returned to my face "gosh! I haven't been able to paint in ages, Thank you so much!" I gushed pulling the middle age man into a tight hug almost squeezing the air out of him.

After I had realised what I had done I pulled away looking at the ground in disappointment, stupid, stupid Vera, now you've mad him angry, I mumbled a sorry.

"Don't be sorry kiddo, I'm glad I finally have someone else's company in this house." He assured pulling me into a small hug.

I'm going to like it very much here, I can tell.

A/n: the past couple of chapters and the next few will be quite short, I just wanted a little explanation on Vera's backstory and everything I just didn't want it to be to detailed, so I apologise but I promise over the next few chapters they will start getting longer! Bye :)
