One year later
Aged 18

I was scared, scrap that I was terrified. A human in Volterra, I couldn't be more unlucky. When Bella told me Edward was in trouble I just jumped in the car, no explanation needed, not because I wanted to save Edward and become some sort of avenger, I just wanted to be in on the action.

We were currently driving way over the speed limit in this nice yellow car, with Alice driving.

"Remind me to not get in a car with you again Alice." I muttered

"This is no time for Jokes Vera." Bella stated turning and giving me some kind of glare.

"Just trying to diffuse the tension." Sighing and raising my hands in defeat. Moody Bella was my least favourite Bella, like I get it your boy friend is dying, but seriously girl, chill the F out.

"I'm guessing you didn't rent this car?"

"I figured you wouldn't be opposed to grand theft auto." Alice admitted I won't lie Alice was terrifying me a little, the girl was going way over the speed limit I thought I would fly out the car and do a black flip or something.

"Not today." Bella agreed

"They refused him."

"So?" Bella asked I was very confused on who 'they' are, I mean I wasn't fully aware about vamp history and hadn't really been told what was fully going on, only that Edward was trying to kill himself, I need an award with all of the shit I have to deal with from that idiot. Don't even get me started on him and his nightly activities aka sleep watcher Edward. Ooo new nickname.

"He's going to make a scene, show himself to the humans." Alice followed on I kept my head in my hands.

"He's going to wait until noon, when the suns at its highest."

God Edward always had a flare for the dramatic, what is he trying to get the best lighting possible, post a Facebook pic 'about to die LOL' I laughed at the thought of Edward taking a Facebook selfie and the two brunette stared at me.

"Sorry, funny idea." I admitted, Bella rolled her eyes.

I looked out the window the city was beautiful, it was a super bright day, the yellow light shon throughout Volterra making everything much more colourful. I would love to live here, imagine walking up to that every morning.

Alice speed up the car Turing fast around corners, honking at anyone who tried to cross the road or anyone simply on the street. I could almost feel the fear radiating of the two of them.

"Why are they all in red." Bella asked grabbing her hair and pushing her legs up in a crouching position.

"It's St.Marcus day festival, there commemorating the explosion of vampires from the city." She explained.

"That's ironic." I laughed, Yeah no vampires in this city apart from the apparent vampire cult in the middle of your town.

Bella and myself stepped out of the car, looking confused as to why Alice wasn't coming.

"Bella, your the only one he can't see coming, if we go he will think we're lying and rush into it." She explained and gave Bella directions as where to find Edward and she went running off.
