I groan. “Then why did Emery tell me Chace is a bad guy?” I whine.

Silver rolls her eyes. “Have you thought maybe Emery is right?”

“Hell no, I don’t trust anything that comes out of his mouth.”

Silver stops walking and looks at me with eyebrows up. “Well maybe you just got to trust him,” Silver answers then she shrugs and walks to her car. “have fun at cheerleading practice!” she calls then drives off. I shake my head at her then continue walking to the football field.

“Remember lacrosse practice tonight at 7 at the soccer field!” Cade yells as he jogs past me, I chuckle.

“Your late,” Missy snaps.

“By two minutes,” I mutter under my breath.

Missy rolls her eyes. “Take off your shirt and get on the mats, now,” she bosses. I sigh and take off my shirt revealing my grey sports bra. I jog next to Maddy and Maddy gives me a friendly smile, she was the only girl I mostly liked on the team. Missy plays the music and the rhythm of the song Peacock starts by Katy Perry. “5! 6! 7! 8!” Missy screams and we start the dance.

“1, 2, 3,4,” I mumble under my breath. “5,6,7.….8,” I count the steps of the dance so I don’t screw up or else Missy will have a hissy fit. I chuckle when Maddy steps on my foot and accidentally shakes her butt on her left side instead of right then that sends her tumbling on the ground. The music stops.

“MADDY! How many times have I told you right! Stop shaking your butt the wrong way! What side?!” Missy explodes.

“Right,” Maddy answers back and I help her up. “Thanks,” she whispers I nod my head and the music starts again.

After going over the dance 4 times Missy stops the music.

“Alright Principle Green wants us to make a dance for annual festival coming up next week, does anyone know a dance they would like to share?  Or have a dance?” Missy asks and Maddy and I look at each other.

“We do!” we both yell.

Missy raises her eyebrow. “Alright girls come sit on the grass over here while these two get the mats.” Maddy and I smile at each other, then I run over to my bag, and grab my Ipod out of it then hook it up to Missy’s speakers. I press my cheerleading play list, click on the song ‘Whine up’ then quickly jog to the right of Maddy.

“5,6,7,8,” I mumble then Maddy and I start doing the dance. I knew Missy has to like this dance because there’s a lot of hip motion in it and Missy loves rolling and shaking her hips. That’s one of the main moves we do in this squad. Maddy knows this dance too by heart, so this is defiantly a go dance. With a final shake of the hips Maddy and I stop dancing. Maddy and I face Missy and the squad with heavy breathing.

“Sexyyyyyy!” Noah hollers at his car and I give him the finger.

The squad smiles and nod their heads at Missy, Missy looks away from the rest of the team and looks at me. “No.”

“How was cheerleading?” I throw my bag on the counter and angrily grab a water out of the fridge. Mom looks over at Emery who was putting his backpack on the table. “do I even want to know?” she laughs.

“I hate Missy,” I grumble as I stomp up the stairs. “hate her, hate her, hate her, hate her.”

Cade smirks at me. “You look pissed,” Cade states when I walk into my room.

“I hate Missy!” I whine when I slam my bathroom door shut. I start the shower and start stripping from my sweaty sports bra and spandex. I then hop in the hot water and quickly wash my body and hair. I get out of the shower and wrap a warm white towel around my body then step out of my bathroom. I find no Cade but shrug, probably in the game room. I go through my dresser and put on a tank top and sweats. Then, I’m walking into the game room.

“Cedes you and Emery are going to the store to get stuff to eat for the football game tonight,” Noah bosses.

“Oh yeah the big game’s on tonight huh?” Noah nods. Then I gasp under my breath,

I have to go with Emery?

*

“Cede-”

“Shut up, Emery, I don’t want to hear it,” I snap.

Emery sighs. “Can’t you just let me talk to yo-” I cut off Emery’s deep and masculine voice.

“No.”

“Cede-”

I turn around and look up at Emery. “No, you had years to talk! You choose to ignore me, you choose to hate me-” this time Emery cuts me off by slapping his hand over my mouth, my eyes narrow into slits.

“Cedes, I never sent you that hate letter,” Emery says and my eyebrows crease.

Whaaaaa?

“Cedes?” I turn around and Emery drops his hand.

I smile at Sally, Sally was a friend of Emery’s parents and my parents. “Hi Sally.”

“Hi Cedes, how are you doing?” Sally asks when I give her a hug.

“I’m doing good, how are you?” I question back.

Sally smiles. “I’m doing good, whose this?” Sally asks as she nods towards Emery.

“Sally, its me, Emery.”

Sally gasps and walks over to Emery, engulfing him in a hug. “Oh my Emery! Look at you!” Sally cries, I smile. Sally always loved Emery more than me, I guess it was hard not to love Emery. “how are you? What are you doing back?!”

Emery shrugs but I see the sadness in his eyes. “I’m here visiting the Elements,” Emery answers.

“Well it was nice seeing you again, hopefully we’ll run into each other again.” Sally and Emery hug once more then Sally goes the other way. I turn around when Emery locks eyes with me.

I gasp when Emery takes my wrist and pulls me into his chest. Emery takes a deep breath. “Cedes it was a dare to write that hate letter,” Emery confesses.
