I quickly flicker my eyes open when I don’t feel Noah in his sleeping bag. I sit up and rub my eyes, trying to get my vision not so blurry. I look around the small tent to indeed find no Noah, I was ready to grab my crutches when the tent starts to unzip.

“Noah?” I whisper. Noah crawls into the tent and zips the tent back all the way up.

“Sorry if I woke you up,” Noah whispers.

I lay back down when Noah takes off his sweatshirt. “What time is it?” I ask.

“3 in the morning,” he replies then takes off his pants. “I woke up to an empty stomach.”

I nod. “Yeah I left you eggs on the table.”

“Thanks,” Noah beams.

I nod. “You were knocked out, everyone tried to wake you up for dinner but you would not move.”

Noah chuckles and climbs in his sleeping bag. “I wasn’t even tired,” my eyelids start dropping but I force them open. “you can go back to bed, Cedes. You have at least 8 or 9 more hours until everyone else wakes up.”

I move closer to Noah. “What about you?”

“I’ll try to fall asleep.”

“Move me into your sleeping bag?” I murmur as my eyes start dropping and they start to feel heavier and heavier. Noah unzips my sleeping bag and I feel myself being picked up then I’m put into Noah’s cold sleeping bag. I move my hands to my stomach and I wrap my arms around myself. “I’m not tired.”

Noah’s chest rumbles against my back and I know what way I’m facing. “Yes you are, Cedes. Just go back to sleep I’ll see you in the morning.” finally my eyelids are light and darkness fills me…

“Wake up!” I slowly start opening my eyes and look over to see Cade sticking his head in the tent. “well don’t you two look all comfortable.”

“Shut up, go away,” Noah grumbles and my stomach flips when I hear his sleepy and deep morning voice. I move closer to Noah but groan when I feel his morning friend.

“Get your lazy asses up, breakfast will be ready in 10!” I sigh when Cade leaves.

“You can go back to bed for another hour if you want,” Noah murmurs behind me. I shake my head.

“I’m good,” I inform him and turn around so my chest is against his chest. Noah had heavy bags underneath his eyes and he looked tired.

Noah touches my eyes. “You have really bad bags under your eyes,” he comments.

I chuckle. “I could say the same.”

“You look tired.”

“You look like hell.”

He laughs. “Thanks, Cedes.” I shrug and start to untangle myself from Noah. I crawl over to my caps that were neatly laid on my sweater and start putting my prosthetic leg on. I turn around and grab an outfit out of my backpack and start changing into today’s clothes. I turn to Noah who was looking at me.

“Don’t look,” I boss. Noah turns his head and I quickly change my underwear then slip on some sweats. “okay, you’re good,” I grab my toothbrush and toothpaste. “alright I’m going to get some breakfast, I’ll save you plate.” Noah nods and forces himself out his sleeping bag. I unzip the tent and zip it back up, walking over to the picnic table where everyone was eating breakfast.
