17. happiness in a hospital room..

The door to the room opens swiftly and enters a worried camilla, she looks at luz sleeping against me and her breath exhales shakily. Luz stirs in her sleep, opening her eyes gently she sees both camilla and eda looking very worried in the walkway

"Hey mami I'm glad you could make it.."

Camilla's eyes stare at the reddened gauze underneath the hospital gown then at me demanding an explanation, luz looks up at me causing me to frown

"It's honestly alot camilla... luz had caught me as I was walking around the school yard and so we sat down for a moment to stargaze, I'm positive it was thirty minutes after when we started walking to the school luz stopped me to catch her breath in the courtyard. I could tell something was happening when her body could no longer hold her up and then she tells me, "it's happening" I was so scared of losing her I immediately went here and begged the doctor to help her. I went to my manor to get my allowance to pay her bill off- mom helped me by giving me the two thousand I was off.. and I barely remember anything else other than reading her name on the roster then crying when another patient flatlined because I thought it was her in surgery- but I've never left her side... I've stayed here taking care of her I promise camilla"

Camilla sits on luzes other side, resting her hand on mine causing me to choke on my heart. I look down at luz who worriedly looks into my watering eyes, taking my face in her hands she wipes my tears away.

"Thank you so much amity... for saving my daughter-"

Looking up I looked wide eyed at camilla my eyes getting tears again, wiping my tears away I nod And say quietly

"You're welcome.."

Luz moving as slow as her body will let her presses into me her eyes just opened enough, wrapping my arm around her carefully I rub her arm.
Camilla looks panicked at luzes exhausted expression until I ask her

"Are those painkillers making you tired?"

Luz nods slowly and looks up at her mom with a smile, then to eda in the doorway

"Come in eda.. it's not like you to sulk in shadows like a creep"

Eda chuckles and pulls out a folding chair, sitting down she smiles at luz.

" you look great kiddo"

Luz snickers softly trying not to put too much pressure on her healing wound, luz then says in a quiet though fake enthusiastic manner

"I feel great! I don't feel so tired as I was before"

I can see camilla steal a glance at eda as she continues to chuckle, eda stands up and says quietly

"Is it alright if I go get king? He misses you two kids"

Luz slowly nods and gives eda a little wave, eda smiles widely and slips out the door. Luz looks at camilla and frowns finally admitting

"I feel like shit mom... my whole body hurts"

Camilla frowns and places her hand ontop luzes, I lean softly against luz and squeeze her shoulder gently. She sighs heavily

"Sorry I'm not talking much mom... I didn't think I'd be this tired"

Camilla chuckles lovingly and moves to the chair eda set down, running her fingers through her daughter's hair she smiles softly. Closing her eyes gently she rests her head on my shoulder, camilla stakes up the opportunity to move to the couch and look at me, sighing I say quietly

"I'm sorry I didn't get you camilla... it happened so quickly I didn't know how to react.."

She shakes her hands and head no, I look down and feel myself start to shake
