Today was the World Unity Festival, and Harry invited me as his date. Which means I needed a dress, something I didn't have. Lucky for me Felicia was nice enough to led me one of hers. I look among her many dresses and pick out a blue one that seem to fit me well enough.
"Thank you again, Felicia." I said, coming out of her room in the dress. Felicia sat on the sofa, looking up from her Fine Arts book to smile at me. "Don't mention it. You can keep it, if you like. I have so many you honestly be doing me a favor taking it off my hands."
"Really? Thank you." I smile down at my outfit. I've never wore anything nice like this before. It makes me feel fancy. "You're not going with you hair looking like that are you? You look like you jumped out of a plane."
I blink a couple times before looking in a mirror that hanged on the wall, seeing my hair was messy and spread out controlled. Guess I really should brush it, after swinging around as Spider-Woman.
"Here. Sit down and let me fix that for you." Felicia said, setting her book down and heading back into her room. I sat down at the table, allowing Felicia to brush my hair, and make it look nice. "There! When that boyfriend of yours see you, he won't be able to take his eyes off of you." Felicia made me stand up to look in the mirror, to see her work.
I stare at my own reflection, unable to believe I really looked this nice right now. "Wow. Is that really me?" I asked. "It sure is, Buttercup." Felicia said, smirking in the mirror. "I'm not sure what to say. Thank you Felicia." I said, turning to smile gratefully at her. "All in a days work for your wingwoman. Now go have fun, I have a lot of studying to catch up on." I smile at myself in the mirror, feeling happy with myself.
Before leaving I grab my bag, to hold my wallet, Web Shooters and my costume inside. Just in case Spider-Woman is needed. These festivals can get pretty crazy.
I arrived at Times Square, where the festival was being held. I decided to walk around a bit to see some of the items people were selling and get a better look at some of the parade balloons.
I walked up to one table that had a bunch a sunglasses. An old man with a mustache and wearing sunglasses, was tending the table. He pick up a pair and held them out to me. "Hey. How about these? They wore them in the X-Men."
"Oh!" I took the Cyclops like sunglasses and tried them on. "How much?" I asked the old man. "For a fellow True Believer... five bucks." I open my bag to grab my wallet when Peter came up, almost out of nowhere. "Here you go." He handed the old man a five dollar bill. I stare at my friend and little confused. "Peter?"
"I got the job at the Daily Bugle!" He announced. "Peter, that's great!" I said hugging him. "Yeah. Thank you again, for helping me get pictures." He said, as we began walking through the crowd people. "You don't need to thank me. I always wanted to be on the front page of something."
"You look nice today." Peter told me, looking at my dress. "Thanks, Felicia help me out." I said. "Are you going be up there, with Harry?" Peter asked, pointing at the balcony on the Oscorp building. "Yeah, aren't you? You're his roommate."
"Harry didn't invite me up." Peter said, making me frown. "Really? That's weird." I said, crossing my arms. "It's alright. I have to take pictures for the Bugle down here anyway." Peter said, holding up his camera. "Hmm. Okay, well I'll see you when the festivals over." I said, turning and heading toward the Oscorp building. "I'll be here."
I took the elevator up, and met Harry out on the balcony. "(Name)! You finally made it, you had me worried there for a second." Harry said, coming over to hug me. "You didn't need to worry. I was just talking to Peter." I said, causing Harry to stop mid hug and pull away. "Oh."
"What's wrong?" I asked. "It's nothing. It's uh... hey where you get those sunglasses?" He asked, trying to change the subject. "Peter bought them for me." I answered, Harry gave an irritated look for a moment, before he gesture to the railing. "Hey, have you see this view yet?" He asked, guiding me over and changing the subject yet again.
"Harry, what's going on? Are you mad at Peter or something?" I asked him. "It's nothing. I just... school works been stressful and I just want it to be you and me." He said, looking over the railing and down at the people below.
"...Are you sure you and Peter are okay?" I asked. Harry continue looking down for a moment longer, before he finally lifted his head and turn to look at me. "Yes." I felt something was wrong, but didn't know what I could say to get him to confess. So I just nodded, accepting his answer for now. "Okay."
"Why didn't you wear a black dress?" He suddenly asked. I raise my eyebrow at him. Not sure how to answer that question. "It's just... I wanted to impress my father and he loves black." He told me.
"Maybe he'll be impressed no matter what. You think I'm pretty." I said. "I think you're beautiful." He replied with a smile. Harry place his hand on my cheek and lean in to kiss me. "I loved that man and you're the reason he left me." I turn away before our lips could connect, looking at the parade balloons instead. I could feel an awkward tension building between us, that made me want to turn invisible to escape.
"(Name), can I ask you something?" Harry asked, getting me to look at him again. "Why won't you kiss me? And I don't mean the pecks on the cheeks you give me. I mean... why won't you kiss me on the lips?" He asked, with a look of disappointment. "Harry it's not you... it's just sometimes I..."
At that moment, my spider sense went off. I look around, trying to spot what was coming. "What is it?" Harry asked, but I ignored him and kept looking around, until... I saw something in the sky. A trail of smoke, that was being left behind by something that was too far away to see.
"What is that?" On of the men in suits asked. "Must be new this year." The guy in the wheelchair said. The crowd below went quite as everyone was watching the mysterious object that was flying towards us. "That's our glider!"
The object flew pass the balcony, where we could briefly see a man in an all green suit, flying on a glider. The people below began to cheer, as the man flew away from us. "What the hell was that?" Harry asked. The man started to fly back, this time straight at the balcony. Everyone that was on the balcony with Harry and I, back away as the man flew closer.
The man laugh as he threw something under the balcony. What ever it was, it exploded, shatter the glass and causing the balcony to shake, knock some people down. The man threw another grenade that exploded, causing the balcony to break and crumble.
I fell forward, onto an unstable part of the balcony, that was breaking apart. "(NAME)!" Harry yelled, reaching his hand out to help me. But the broken part of the balcony, start to break off even more, creating even more distance between us. "Harry, I'm okay! Just stay back!" I told him, hugging my bag close to my chest.
"Out, am I?" The attacker asked, throwing another grenade. Only this time he threw it onto the balcony. I saw an orange and green ball roll over to the men in suits, that were cowering in a corner. The grenade went off and the men were turn into skeletons that disintegrated into dust. Holy shit!
"(NAME)!" Harry yelled, trying once again to help me. But a piece of rubble hit him on the head, knocking him out. "HARRY!" My spider sense went off, telling me something was behind me. I turn to see that man, rising up behind me on his glider. "Hello, my dear." I stared into those horrible yellow eyes, unable to move.
"IT'S SPIDER-MAN!" A woman yelled, the attacker and I turn our head in time to see Spider-Man swing in, kicking the man off of his glider. Spider-Man landed on the wall of the Oscorp building, while the glider flew out on control and into one of the parade balloons, popping it.
The ballon began to fall down, towards a little boy who was petrified with fear. "Come on. Move, kid." Spider-Man said, before he swing down to save the boy. I look around to see everyone that was on the balcony were gone, except for an unconscious Harry and disintegrated remains of Oscorp's men.
I open my back and took out one of my web shooters, putting it on and shooting a web at the wall. I then used the web like a rope and climb my way to safer, jumping off just as the broken part of the balcony crumbled underneath my feet. I landed next to Harry, turning him over to see if he was bleeding.
Seeing no visible injuries besides a bruise on his head, I picked him up like a sack of potatoes and carried him inside. I laid him down by the elevator and ran off to find a place to change. Peter gonna need some help with that lunatic.
3rd Person P.O.V
The mysterious attacker, known as the Green Goblin jump onto his glider after he knock Spider-Man away. Once on bored he flew after Spider-Man shooting at him, while the hero runs away to avoid being hit.Suddenly Green Goblin is kick off his glider again. He growls, shaking his head and stands up, looking at his glider that hovered in the air. Spider-Woman turns off her camouflage, revealing yourself on the glider. "This is a pretty fancy toy you got here. But I get the feeling it doesn't belong to you."
"I was wondering when you were going show yourself. Welcome Spider-Woman! So, nice of you to finally join us." Green Goblin said, extending his arms out in a welcoming greeting. "Glad to be here, now who are you? No wait. Let me guess... the Emerald Elf?"
"Ha me? I'm just a concerned citizen, helping to clean up our fair city." Green Goblin replied, his human teeth grinning from within the mouth of his mask. "Oh really? Well I gotta say bud, I'm not a fan of your work."
"Everyone a critic these days." Green Goblin said, before he threw a Pumpkin Bomb at Spider-Woman. The little orange ball open up and turn into bladed boomerang that nearly cuts Spider-Woman, who jump off the glider to avoid being hit.
"So, what's you're take on Freak-Show?" Spider-Woman asked Spider-Man while they avoid Green Goblin's Pumpkin bombs. "He's tough and got a creepy laugh." Spider-Man answered. "Not very helpful."
Green Goblin jumps back on his Glider and begins flying after the heroes. "That Glider is our biggest problem. We need to take that thing down first." Spider-Man told his partner, as they swing away from the villain. "Now that I can work with. I'll keep the Elf busy, while you do what you do best."
Spider-Woman spins herself around and swings into Green Goblin, landing a punch on him, as she lands on the Glider next to him. "Impressive." Green Goblin told her, throwing his fist at her, to knock her off. Spider-Woman avoids his attack, and uppercut his jaw. "This is the part where you fall down."
Green Goblin growls as he begins fighting Spider-Woman on the Glider. "You're getting to be a real bother Spider-Woman." He told her as he attempts to knock her off, once again. "Just now? I must be losing my touch."
As the two struggled on the Glider Spider-Man swings in from behind the Green Goblin. He swings under the Glider and slams his fist into it, yanking out some wires that were probably important.
The Glider begins to smoke and spins out of control, giving Spider-Woman the cue to jump off and swing to safer. With his best weapon damaged, Green Goblin flies away from Times Square on his broken Glider. "We'll meet again, Spider-Man and Spider-Woman!"
The two heroes swing to the top of Oscorp's building, landing on the roof and looking over the damaged of Time Square. "Something tells me, traffics going to be hell tomorrow." Spider-Woman said, sitting on the edge of the roof. "Gonna be a lot more people taking the subway that's for sure." Spider-Man said, crouching next her.
"What the hell was that thing anyway?" Spider-Woman asked. "I don't know. But someone gotta stop it." Spider-Man answered. "And by someone you mean us right? There's no way the cops can handle that wack job." Spider-Woman said, gesturing to the damaged below them.
"I know. This is a job only we can do. Next time we see him, we take him down. We can't let him get away and risk him hurting more people." Spider-Man said. "Agree. I wonder who's under that mask." Spider-Woman said, leaping off the building and swinging away. "No one, good that's for sure." Spider-Man said as he jumps off the building as well and swings along side his partner.
