"Oh my God, oh gosh. I can't believe...I-Is this really–" Y/n paced back and forth in a frenzy until her friend Evelyn grabbed her hands to still her.

"Yes, this is really happening. And no, you look perfectly beautiful." She took her hands and stood her in front of the mirror in her dressing room. The white wedding gown cascaded down her body and ended in a perfect pool, its embroidered edges providing a perfect contrast against the transparent material.

"You see that woman in the mirror? She is absolutely perfect and the reason why Michael wanted to marry her in the first place. She has nothing to be afraid of. If anything, the world should be afraid of her. And guess what? That brave, confident woman in the mirror is you. Don't worry girl, you got this."

Y/n giggled a bit and dried the corners of her eyes.

"Did you write that out before now or something?"

Evelyn shrugged. "Just spur of the moment I guess." As a final touch, she took the bridal crown and placed it atop Y/n's head, adjusting the back of the long, embroidered veil to be just right. "Perfect."

Both girls laughed and Y/n took a deep breath

Both girls laughed and Y/n took a deep breath. "I'm ready."

Each step to the giant closed double doors felt like an eternity. Thank goodness she had her friend by her side to help her through this! At long last, she reached the doors and clutched her bridal bouquet tighter as they finally opened.

As if on autopilot, her feet moved her closer to the altar where Michael stood waiting for her in his red and gold jacket, black slacks, and signature penny loafers and rhinestone glove. Their eyes met and she could see his jaw almost drop as his eyes scanned her figure from head-to-toe multiple times.

Blushing a bit, she finally came to stand next to him and out of habit the two intertwined their hands. A few minutes into the ceremony, Michael leaned closer to whisper in her ear.

"You look absolutely ravishing in that."

Y/n lightly giggled. "You don't look too bad yourself."

She looked at Michael and saw nothing but pure love and admiration in his eyes.

"And it's all for me."

Butterflies rose in her stomach, filling her up with a giddy feeling of pure delight as her dreams were finally coming true with the man she loved. His hand squeezed hers as the priest finished his part at long last. Michael's eyes had remained glued on her for the entirety of the ceremony and the priest had to clear his throat multiple times to gain his attention.

Finally, it was time to exchange vows. They turned to face each other as Michael took her hands into his. Taking a deep breath, the pair began to say the vows they had written together.

In your darkest hour, in your deepest despair, I promise you, I will be there

In your trials and tribulations, in our doubts and frustrations

In your violence and turbulence, in your fear and your confessions

In your anguish and pain, in your joy and your sorrow

In promise of another tomorrow, I will be there

With this hand, I will lift your sorrows.

Your cup will never empty, for I will be your wine.

With this candle, I will light your way in darkness.

With this ring, I ask you to be mine

At that instant, Emmanuel Lewis walked up to the altar with the rings nestled in the plush cushion

At that instant, Emmanuel Lewis walked up to the altar with the rings nestled in the plush cushion. Michael and Y/n took the rings before Y/n placed a kiss on his forehead and turned back to Michael.

"You're lucky you're taller than me Mike. Otherwise I woulda stolen your girl."

Michael threw his head back in laughter as the hall was filled with chuckles from everyone else. They turned back to face each other as they slid the rings on to the other's finger. Michael then hugged her and whispered, "I will never let you go Y/n. You will always be in my heart."

Right then and there, she felt like she was about to melt and withdrew a blushing mess as the audience awwed at their display of loving affection.

Michael looked like he was trying to hide a smirk, which confused Y/n, until the priest declared, "You may now kiss the bride."

Without wasting any more time, Michael cupped Y/n's cheeks and brought them closer together for a slow, passionate kiss as everyone present roared with applause and whistles. She could feel him wanting to take the kiss up a level but broke it off before it could escalate. Freely smiling and laughing, the newly wedded couple ran down the aisle like two kids let loose in a candy store until they stood in front of the closed double doors that separated them from the public eye.

Discreetly, Michael leaned closer to whisper to her, "I can't wait to do that again with you later tonight," throwing his signature wink and lip bite into the mix. Y/n couldn't help but blush at his words. But as she was busy being embarrassed, he couldn't help but take in her perfect beauty. Right then and there, he wished this feeling of pure happiness would never end.

"I did it! She's finally my, and only my, Liberian girl."
