☁️Baji Keisuke x Reader - Study☁️

I realised that I haven't written anything about Baji for a long time.
I recommend finishing the first season, not mandatory but will give you some more context.

Context:
• You're around a year younger than Baji. As you probably know he was held back a year so you're in the same class as him.
• Your parent/s know Baji's mum and are good friends.

You walked into your classroom already bored. It was the first day back at school and you had unknowingly gotten to school earlier than intended.
'Who's that? A new kid?'
You decided that this year, you were going to make new friends.
The boy wrote furiously, his black, slicked hair looked like a polished ball.
'How much gel did he use?!'
Feeling slightly awkward, you walked up to the boy quietly, tapping on his desk lightly.
He looked up, you were unable to see behind his thick glasses.
"Yes?"
"Hi, I was just wondering, are you new?"
"Huh?"
"Sorry, It's just that I've never seen you before and I wanted to make a new friend..."
'Oh God, that sounds so cheesy...'
"Uhh, (F/N)."
You were taken aback, "How do you know my first name?"
"It's me, Keisuke." He said taking off his glasses.
"Keisuke?! What the- You look so different!"
"Is that supposed to be a compliment or a diss..?"
"I uh- Anyway, those glasses..."
"Oh yeah, I got them because I want to be smarter!"
"I don't think it works like that Keisuke..."
"What do you mean?! Do I have to read books and watch nature documentaries in my spare time too?!"
"What? No, you have to study to get smarter, not get glasses. Who told you that glasses would make you smarter?"
"My friends..."
"Well I think...Nevermind. So, did you get held back?"
"Mum cried..."
"Oh..."
You looked around awkwardly.
"I don't want to make her cry so I'm trying to get smarter."
"I see, how about I help you then?"
"You'd do that?"
"Yes of course, we wouldn't want your mum crying would we?"
Baji grinned widely. "Thanks (F/N), I owe you one!"

During break and lunch you helped Baji work on studying.
"How do you write dragon?"
"Dragon? Hmm."
You tapped your pen in your cheek as you thought.
"Do-ra-ken." You spelled out, writing the Kanji slowly on Baji's workbook. "There."
"Great, thanks." He smiled at you sweetly.
Baji carried on taking notes and reading through a thick textbook.
You watched him content and calm.
"You're so sweet Keisuke."
"What?! Why would you say that?! No I'm not!!"
You laughed at him. His face was flushed red, he fiddled with his glasses.
"You act really tough Keisuke, but I know how sweet you are. The fact that you're trying to hard to do well in school for your mum shows me that."
"No, I just don't like her crying...."
"Of course."

"Hey, are you free tonight?"
"Yeah."
"Can you come over and help me study?"
"Yeah, sure."
"Thanks (F/N)."
"It's no problem."

You walked to Baji's home after school. You called your parents, telling them that you'd be back late and that you were with Baji. They sounded reassured when you said his name.

"Ahhh! I don't want to do this anymore!" Baji shouted.
"Weren't you saying that you didn't want to make your mum cry?"
"Let me take a break please."
"Only after you finish with these questions." You pointed at a set of questions in Baji's textbook.
"Ugh, can I take a break and then do them?"
"No, if that happens you'll never get it done."
"But-"
You cut him off, "No buts."

You peered into your school bag and reached your hand in.
"What are you trying to find?" Baji asked, a hand supporting his head.
"Just wait a sec', you'll see..."
"Hmm.."
"Aha!" You pulled out a packet of Peyang Yakisoba.
Baji gasped, he reached for the packet.
"Wait Keisuke. I'll let you eat this, if you finish your work."
"What? That's unfair, you're dangling it right in front of me!"
"I won't give it to you if you don't do the work."
"How about I eat while I work."
"No."
"I won't do it then."
"You have to!"
"But I'm so hungry!" He whined.
"You liar."
"I don't lie!"
"Fine." You stood up and walked towards Baji's door. "I'll get the kettle boiling, do some work before I'm back."
"Yes!" Baji punched the air with his fist.
You shook your head and chuckled.

*Ding*
You poured the boiling water into the tray and grabbed a pair of chopsticks from the cupboard. Slowly, you walked back to Baji's room.
"Is it ready?!"
"No, I just put the water in."
"Oh..."
"How much work did you do?" You asked.
Baji pointed at his notebook.
"That's quite a lot.."
"Well yeah, I want my Yakisoba."
"So in life, what motivates you is Peyang Yakisoba and the fear of your mother crying?"
Baji stared at you.
"No."
"Nice lie Keisuke."
"Shut up..."
You grinned at each other.

"Is it done now?"
You sighed, "I suppose so..."
You stored the noodles gently.
Baji opened his mouth eagerly.
"What are you? A bird?"
"Just feed me."
You blew on the noodles and guided them to Baji. Grateful, he chewed on the noodles and swallowed.
You tapped his notebook with the back of the chopsticks, indicating that you wanted to see work done.
Baji hastily started reading the questions and writing answers down.

Every time he finished a question, you gave him a bite of his food.
Soon, the Yakisoba was almost gone.
"Well done Keisuke, I'll check over your work okay?"
"Mhmm." Baji grabbed the Yakisoba out of your hands and started stuffing his face.
You checked over his work briefly before returning his notebook.
"You got all of them right! Hopefully you won't get held back another year."
"Mhmm I hope so too."
"Swallow before you talk Keisuke." You gently scolded him.
"Yeah, yeah."
