Day 2 Cloytober: Letter

❦❦❦

Beyond the white clouds where they glow with gold, was heaven where voices were raised together in a beautiful meld of the most beautiful and whole harmonies that could never be found on earth. Soft light bounced off every single cloud, lighting up the peaceful sanctuary with all the colours of the rainbow and beyond.

Everywhere you turned, there was immense peace, surrounding you and embracing you because heaven was a place of eternal worship and rest.

That morning, the gentle brush of pure white wings was exactly what a particular angel woke up to as he stretched his own wings languidly. Around him, his friends were already preparing to head for their respective duties on earth; one that he would soon embark on as well.

You see, he would be getting his first letter today.

"Morning, Angel Ri. Don't get excited too fast. You're meeting a devil today too." One of his friends teased him.

Ah, he was right

Ah, he was right. He would be meeting the devil he would be working with for the rest of his human's lifetime. The devils were infamous for their daredevil strikes – they defined and defied it – and many angels couldn't help but lament about their unfortunate interactions with some of their "partners".

"I'm sure I'll enjoy my day, Angel Kim." Angel Ri remained optimistic over the day.

One shouldn't be too quick to judge, even if the ones they were judging were havoc personified.

But again, for an angel that has never run into a devil, who was he to judge?

Saluting, Angel Kim flew off then, leaving Angel Ri alone to prepare for the day.

Moments later, Angel Ri was taking a stroll up heaven's stairs. The golden threads of light shined down on him, lighting his wings in the most ethereal glow as he ascended to the pinnacle of his home.

The normally stoic angel smiled when he felt the usual gentle flutter of the wind against his feathers, a feeling he embraced time and time again. Simplicity was hard to get by which was why the angel was more than open to embracing the little things in life – a habit he picked up on during his time as a human too.
