Arranged Marriage || 64

When we've arrived at my in laws, there's only my father in law. My mother in law is probably working at the moment and of course I didn't mind about it. He invited us in and he was delighted to see Mingyu and Wonwoo too.

We had a casual conversation with my father in law. I could talk comfortably with him as I felt less tensed than before. I felt welcomed and I'm really happy. This is like the first time I've ever talked with my father in law without Shua being around

"How's everything with Jisoo ? Is he treating you well ?" my father in law turned to me

"Yeah, Joshua has been treating me well" I replied to him

"That's good !" he said with a smile

"Are you---"
"Honey !! Do we have some guests ???" he was cut off by my mother in law

"Oh my-- Sophia !" greeted my mother in law as she was delighted to see me

"Wonwoo and Mingyu too ?? You should've told me you two are coming" said my mother in law as she laughed

She then sat down with us to join in the conversation. She was catching up with Wonwoo and Mingyu since they haven't seen each other for quite long. They're busy after all. I didn't know they were close till this point

"Sophia dear how are you feeling now ?? Jisoo told us about your loss and we're really sorry to hear that dear" said mom as she sounded sympathetic

"Currently I'm doing well. Thanks to them mostly" I replied, implying "them" as the ones who took care of me yesterday

"I hope this wouldn't make you lose motivation in life or something. No matter how hard it is, life has to go on" said dad to me

"I'll try,,," I said as I looked down

"There's no need to rush things you know ?? You two are still young after all" mom laughed

"I heard from Jisoo you no longer work as his assistant. Did you maybe changed into another department ??" dad asked

"Oh no no-- I changed my work completely" I replied

"Oh ?? What are you pursuing now ??" mom asked as she was excited to know

"I-it's nothing big,,," I replied as I was scared to say that I'm currently working with Jihoon as a producer

"She's working with Jihoon now. One of the producers at his agency" said Wonwoo to mom and both of my in laws were surprised to hear that

Am I gonna get scolded...?

"A-a p-producer ??" mom stuttered as she couldn't believe what she's hearing

"Yes !! She produced one of Soonyoung hyung's song !!" said Mingyu happily

"Oh my gosh ! I didn't know you had such talents Sophia !" said mom excitedly

"On top of that with Jihoon ?? You sure are full of surprises" said dad with a proud smile plastered onto his face

When I heard that, I could've sworn I wanted to cry. Not even mother praises me like this. She barely acknowledges anything I've done,,,,

"Sophia dear ?? Is everything alright ??" she asked as I snapped out of it

"Y-yeah everything's--"

My tears began escaping little by little

"Oh my gosh-- Did we say something wrong ??" dad asked as he was worried

I wouldn't stop crying so both of them were lowkey panicking. Wonwoo then explained to them about it and mom understood it very well.

"Susan's always like that. Her ego is really high, I'm sure it was really hard for you too" said mom as she pats my head softly

"She can be harsh from time to time, but in reality she's just a softie. Just think that whatever negative things she had said in the opposite way" she added

"I'm sure she genuinely treasures like your other siblings" she kissed on top of my head

"If you want to rant about it, you can always come here to talk to us" said dad and I just nodded

"Let it all out okay ?" said mom, implying I should just cry until I feel better.

Mom then handed me a box of tissues. I took some of it to wipe off my tears and blew off my news. I felt better after a few minutes have passed. All of them were reassuring is alright and honestly I was happy about it.

"I think I'd have to take my leave now. I gotta pack up my stuffs" I said between sniffles

"Eh ?? Are you moving away ??" mom asked, worried

"Oh no no ! I'm just staying overnight at a resort with Shua" I denied as I explained

"Ah I see. Have a great time together" mom responded as she was relieved

We then bid our farewells to my in laws and we left to my house. Wonwoo and Mingyu left to their own house after dropping me off while I began to pack Joshua's and my clothes for the night.

I hope everything's going fine on Sophia's side right now. I feel bad because I'm not able to be there for her whenever she needed me the most. She just had a miscarriage, yet I'm here still busy, not being able to be by her side

I really really hope she doesn't mind about it... I really would make it up to her tonight and tomorrow

"Boss, let's go on a dinner tonight ?? My friend really wants to meet you" said Eunji as she dropped off the paperwork I asked her to do earlier

"I'm sorry Eunji, I'm fully booked tonight. Also, why do your friend wants to meet me ???" I raised my eyebrow

"She's just interested to see my boss that's all ! But... Since you're not free..." she lowkey pouted

"Eunji, again, I am a married man" I said followed by a sigh

"I know... I know..." she frowned

Lowkey wants to throw her out of the window right now. I don't want to fire her because having to search for another assistant is hard since not everyone is eligible for the work. Even having her is making my work slow, I can't imagine getting someone else who might even slow my work down even more.

I'll just keep up with it.
