The girls saw me off. I left them just the way I saw them. It was three in the afternoon when I said my byes to them. I begged Jesse to stop and see them one last time. He was reluctant, but let me. I was to return to his house no later than 3:30 to go.
Daniela. Her sweet, beautiful face and long brown-black hair. She wore some black high-waisted shorts with black tights and her maroon converse with her maroon BMTH shirt. Her eyes twinkled like stars and her pouty lips were down set with her sadness. Dakota wore her black Amity Affliction T-shirt and her black and white gym shorts with her black Vans. She had on her ankle bracelet, and so did Daniela on her wrist. Her hair was laced up into a high ponytail.
"Visit us on campus Brandy." Dakota said while hugging me. "We'll miss you."
   "Yes we will." Daniela said.
When I left them, I burned their faces into my mind. They stood in the hotel driveway as they had years and years before, waving to me, side-by-side. I saw them as little girls and now as almost grown women, off to bigger and better things.
It wasn't until later that I found out 'bigger and better' didn't exist.
